Physically, a bit of a challenge to bind; emotionally, extremely satisfying from start to finish. Very happy with this one!

I have made a 210mm x 210mm book before, but not one with this number of pages at this gsm! This beautiful book weighed in at a little over 900grams. Definitely the biggest book I have made to date.

A purple and teal illustration of a woman in a warped stadium. She's looking up at a screenshot of the Publishers Marketplace announcement for House Hunters.

The announcement reads: "Kelly Bull's House Hunters series, the author's debut, about a woman who must fight her neighbors in a series of deadly battles in lieu of paying rent, pitched as Squid Game meets Scott Pilgrim, to Tess Banta at 23rd Street, in a good deal, in a pre-empt, in a three-book deal, by Jane Chun at Transatlantic Literacy Agency (world)."

Hello!! πŸ₯³ I'm very excited to introduce HOUSE HUNTERS, a graphic novel that's been simmering in my head for almost a decade.

Thank you so much to @janechunlit.bsky.social for being this story's #1 supporter, and to Tess for finding it a home at 23rd Street. I can't wait to share this with you all!

I don’t have a lot of tools other bookbinders might use, so I had to improvise a lot. I’m not sure I’ll stick with this method, but I’m glad I gave it a proper try, and I’m really happy with how this turned out. πŸ’–πŸ“š Thank you to this book for being so patient and kind to me.

I tried the case binding method for the first time since I attempted it for a uni project a bajillion years ago and probably failed the entire subject (uni was rough man).

Now that I am a much more confident bookbinder nearly 20 years later, this is my redemption arc. πŸ™Œ

A c0missioned buttonhole stitch book for a friend.
96 pages (12 signatures x 4 sheets each), blank, 80gsm pages, A5

This style of binding is still experimental for me, but I’m pleased with how this one turned out! πŸ’–πŸ“š

Accordion hinge / Australian binding! Yhis bookbinding method does not require sewing, and is extremely nifty. πŸ“š

Harder to get the precision right, but being able to easily remove and replace the pages is really cool, and could be useful for people using them as sketchbooks/etc.! πŸ“šπŸŒŸ

A coptic stitch notebook with French link stitches added over strips of chiyogami, and then the strips pulled through slits in the cover, because apparently I like making things more difficult for myself.
This one got a bit messy and needs more planning for future books. πŸ€”

I used instructions from Hollander’s: hollanders.com/pages/secret-b…

Apologies to the Hollander family, I probably butchered the instructions real bad πŸ«‘πŸ“š
