As a #MNUFC fan I spend more time complaining about how we won't spend money on gamebreakers or develop a useful academy so we are eternally mired in medicority than worrying about why the team anthem isn't by a Minnesota artist. I. Don't. Care. People should have fun at footy matches. 3/3

This all started because Portland fans, frazzled (justifiably) by the fact that their team is run by imbeciles, redirected their frustration at Minnesota not singing Prince. Just like the Seattle supporters a few weeks ago moaning the #MNUFC low block instead of playing better and scoring. 2/3
Liverpool has the most famous team anthem in the world (YNWA) which was written by... Richard Rodgers. Why don't they sing a Beatles song? Why does Brentford sing Hey Jude?
There's plenty wrong with the sport to not waste time whining about why clubs don't sing songs from local artists. 1/3
Carl Craig (from Newcastle), an AC with #MNUFC in 2011 (their 1st year in the NASL) started singing Wonderwall after wins. The team sang it to the supporters after winning their last home game. It's organic, like Timber Joey.
Traditions can be weird, they don't have to make sense to be cool. 2/2
Honestly, just friendly banter. I know you guys hate Neville. I'd hate him too. It's a shame what has happened to your club, the league is better with a strong Timbers team. 1/2
I mean, if I was that sort of person, I might tell them that having a competent coach who was not a complete yutz and a group of players that were good at soccer would be what I would focus on. But I'm not that kind of person, so I wouldn't tell them that.
Me watching my BlueSky timeline fill up with #RCTID supporters getting pissy about #MNUFC fans singing Wonderwall instead of Prince...
Freely admitting this sounds like incessant whining and Arsenal still lost today, but the sheer luck of Havertz blocking Donnarumma into the goal from THAT angle today when Gallagher caught Verbruggen from a 10x better angle and his deflection went wide... story of #COYS season.🙄
Honestly the only 2 times I think I watched #MNUFC play a worse team at home was the 7-1 over the Garys in Allianz’s first year and the 3-0 over SKC late last year when SKC was out of the playoff race and propping up the Western Conference table.
This PTFC team is atrocious.
One of the guest teams at #MNUFC tonight is “Blackhawks Pre MLS Next.” Which has inspired me to create a youth club named “FC United Pre Future Generation adidas Next Up and Coming Stars.”
They may (probably?) still go down but nobody should confuse the complete lack of coaching and total passivity encouraged by Frank and Tudor for a lack of caring or effort from the players. Vinai and Lange should be expelled to managing tournament table tennis for eternity. Fuck those two. /end
If this team had played this way all season they’d have at least 20 more points right now. They’re were encouraged to accept mediocrity and caution and dropped endless points against bad teams. 3/
or another day of watching the referee screw them over on game critical decisions. They’re in this because Vinai and Lange thought Ange was too risky and sacked him for one and then a second “pragmatic” coach who shackled the players aggression and risk-taking. 2/
#COYS Gonna be a lot of negativity directed at players today (I am heartbroken for Danso, he knew he screwed up immediately) but I will be pragmatic…
Spurs are not in dire straits because of today’s result, or because of the players’ effort today, or a pair of bad mental mistakes… 1/
Stuart Atwell always mediocre but this has been an embarrassment of a performance. That was a straight leg studs up challenge into Kinsky’s midsection and he didn’t even give a card. #COYS
Thomas Frank and Igor Tudor should be in fucking jail for not using Xavi Simons correctly for 10 months. Life sentence. #COYS
FANS WANT TO SEE SKILLED PLAYERS PLAY NOT GET KICKED REPEATEDLY
Honestly I am a supporter of referees but what I am seeing in the Prem week in and week out is just embarrassing. PGMOL encourages rugby matches and stifles skill players. This is most definitely NOT what anyone wants to watch. It’s embarrassing.
#COYS Utterly hilarious RDZ gets booked in his 2nd game for repeatedly leaving the technical area and Arteta does it 8 times a game for 6 years and never gets booked.
#COYS Why did Mitoma not get booked for diving?!???
#COYS I don’t know know what to tell people anymore. Spurs digging their own holes but good Lord no PGMOL referee appears willing to give any Spurs player credit. It’s almost mathematically impossible at this point.
Jeez, well, at least there's no major sporting event that is taking place in roughly six weeks that would require people to fly from Europe to the United States to attend.
Real is a team of the (supposed) best professionals at the top of their game. They know what the potential consequences are for that behavior.
So as we sit here listening to them whine that the ref "ruined the game," keep in mind they- not just Camavinga- allowed that to happen. /end
He gave the referee a chance to punish him with a 2nd yellow. What he should have done is walked away and gotten into position.
I've been booked twice as an assistant coach for dissent, and when it happens I sit my ass down the rest of the game and be quiet. Give no fuel to the fire. 13/
Camavinga knew he was on a yellow, got called for a foul, and chose to pick up the ball and walk away with it.
DUDE, don't do that! You- and your teammates- need to know that if they need to slow down a restart, it's gotta be somebody else. 12/
Here's the thing: he had a chance to change his approach to the match and not give the referee the option of a 2nd yellow. He let his emotions and frustration overcome the reality of the situation he was in. I wasn't mad at the ref for not having mercy on him. The kid made a bad choice. 11/
I tell him I'm not mad about the red, or that I warned him not to give the ref a reason to think about a 2nd yellow, or that he nearly cost us the game and then would miss this game.
I tell him what dictates the kind of person he is will be if he learns from his mistake. 10/
The kid was crushed, broke down crying behind the bench. We nearly blew the match (won 4-3) and he was suspended for our next game, which was a key game. Before that game he's in street clothes and pull him aside to have a brief convo... 9/
5 min into the 2nd half (we're up 4-1) he gets called for a push as he wins the ball in midfield... whistle, 1-1000, 2-1000... he blasts the ball 40 yards downfield in frustration. Ref has no choice, 2nd yellow, he's done. 8/
