i've never made soda bread but in ireland they're one of the holy trinity of breads to serve with a fry up. soda farl, wheaten ring and potato bread. all get dipped in that bacon fat. nom. haven't had a full ulster fry since xmas. it's a once a year thing now.

roast beetroot soup tonight. not gonna call it borscht as gone a different root. roasted the beets with carrots, onions, celery and blitzed in stock with vinegar, cumin, coriander, a block of tofu for protein and a block of feta for depth. really nice with toasted sourdough and blob of greek yoghurt
