Also, organic foods makes a huge difference for people with dietary issues.

You're being disingenuous here. A box of store brand cookies, 50 servings of 2 cooks, can be bought as low as $1.50 in some stores. That's at least 50 desserts for a school lunch box. 6 apples will run you 2-3x that, and that's just not affordable for a LOT people!
.
Right, which is why I didn't mention weight, just diet. Our FDA allows more processed garbage than any other country as far as I'm aware... and doesn't educate people on it. I've a friend who HONESTLY thought she was doing something healthy by switching from cola to canned iced teas...
Uhh... nope!
Through what means? When I was out of work a few years ago, I received medicaid, best Healthcare i ever had. But that was b/c in on NY, which prioritizes that for people who can't afford it. (Now that I'm working, my coverage is both expensive and terrible.)
But both ARE the problem. The fact we don't have a sensible national health care policy is 100% ridiculous, however, the US's eating habits are terrible... or course, that too can EASILY be blamed on government b/c the education on the subject *is* PURPOSEFULLY lacking.
Yeah I'm not advocating going back there, just saying the system is somehow faster than whatever it is BlueSky has set up.
Definitely some, but the diet of coffee, liquor, Twizzlers, & chili cheese dogs so many have had didn't help.
Been an intermittent problem with BlueSky for as long as over been here.
And when they do work, why do they take SO DANG long to upload? Just recently went back to Twitter the other day to see if it was my connection. It's not.

Nothing new comes to mind; when it IS done well, you don't really think much of it. I *did* recently see a Marvel book where it was distractingly bad.
Oh wait! I know!: Alan Grant! Back in the '90s Lobo comics, aimed at adults, had lots of faux cusses. I think Ennis' Hitman did it well too.
SO much fun! Wish @criterion.bsky.social'd release it! Director and star are still alive. Director (and editor) arguably did a better job than MOST who made a movie w/actors in dual roles. The film is Zorro, & uses classic Zorro music & setting, but is based on The Scarlet Pimpernel. It's so clever!
This is a dance off. If you see this, reskeet w/a dance or get eliminated.
From an episode ABOUT a dance-off!
And sued by John Astin b/c they stole his and Carolyn Jones's schtick with the "That's French!" and all that, stuff they apparently came up with on set which was not part of Chas Addams's characters.
The production also avoided paying Vic Mizzy by using only the 1st 8 bars of the Addams theme.
Share an '80s movie you will always love. 💞
BACK TO THE FUTURE is likely top of the list. THE LAST DRAGON's up there, b/c it's so balls-to-the-wall NUTS (a Star Wars plot in Harlem that parodies kung-fu movies...uh OK.). But I think I'm going for this: ZORRO, THE GAY BLADE!
see alt text for deets!
I loved it too. Problem is, nobody bought the issues when they came out. Pretty sure the trade undersold as well.
Another advertising insert from DC's '80s THE NEW TEEN TITANS. These were New Format books, so they probably thought it was a good investment... but I've heard Miller's RONIN also undersold (see below skeet).
Btw: Titans art by Perez & Tenghal. Written by Marv.

Back in the day, movies were #movies! Check out this BEAUTIFUL aerial shot🎥 from THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION. It's not mentioned in the script, but it's the moment you know you're watching something special!
Details coming to the podcast this week! Listen:

I prefer Sutton's work if I'm being honest.🤷♂️
The page before the slick advertisement insert.
#NCBD for me—opening my newest ebay purchases, checking my last delivery: 3 lots of '80s TEEN TITANS. In TNTT #comics, around no's 32-37, DC did these VERY EXPENSIVE 4-pg inserts on SLICK paper advertising some prestige series! My recollection is... there wasn't much return on investment.🫤

I love them all, Paula!!
And, adding insult to injury, he's wearing the terrible costume.
I've been watching PERFECT STRANGERS; never saw beyond S2 in first run (i discovered dating). It's been really fun. Cute, silly show...but, in a strange turn of events, they relocate to a house in its final season, whether an attempt to fit in more w/other TGIF series or a revamp, I dunno.

What're you talking about?? I can't see Batman OR Robin in these drawings, they must be wearing incredible camouflage!
I'm also wondering, since Marvel is pivoting SO much BACK towards its last successful phase, if they're just gonna kill off The New Avengers (aka The Thunderbolts) in the first act. #MCU
Thoughts??

"Hey, #MCU Fandom! Y'know how it's felt like we've not set up anything like w/Thanos & tried the alt world & Kang stuff then pivoted (cuz Ant-Man 3 was EXTREMELY terrible), but we pretended everything was fine, even calling 1 new team no one cared about New Avengers? Well, yeah, forget all that."
May we ALL get green lights!!
#ScriptSky & #FilmSky, would love your opinion. I think the left logo is better than the right logo (I update my podcast logo each month -- this month, SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION). Yes?
Not as much as I am! Similar thing hap'd at Sony a few yrs back. CE team prioritized scripts by name creators & big agencies. Those got tossed as mine kept going to next pile. After 8mos, Sr CE met w/me,said "This is a green light, just have to get Exec's approval." Sony reshuffled its team next wk.
