Sorry, it’s a minor point but I’ve seen this said a few times and it’s inaccurate: we won the next 4 games in a row post-final (including 5-0 over Palace, 4-1 over Man Utd), 6 out of the 10 following. Bit iffy the last few games of last season (Brighton away, Everton at home, Arsenal away poor).

The amusement of Spurs doing Spurs things is a welcome distraction from my own team’s woes. Over to Forest and West Ham to really turn the screw now.
All too familiar. Struggle to create, incredibly easy to score past. Flat first 45, better 2nd, concede yet another poor late goal. There’s an argument it was marginally better than last week, but materially no. A point on the board would’ve been something, but we are such a pushover now #NUFC
Almost certainly. But life without hope is no life at all.
I’d prefer Bruno to be starting (but having him back in any capacity is a boost), I’d be playing Burn ahead of Botman, no Gordon looks bad (guess we’ll find out how genuine that is in due course) but I’ll take at face value for now. Tonali captain is a surprise given the noise around him. #NUFC
Monumental game today. Our incredibly slim chances of achieving Europe are well in the background. Not really about that. If we lose today you’d feel that there was no way back for Howe. I’m not optimistic for us winning, but truly desperate to be surprised.

You’d be wrong if you did, we won the next 4 games in a row post-final (including 5-0 over Palace, 4-1 over Man Utd), 6 out of the 10 following. Bit iffy the last few games (Brighton away, Everton at home, Arsenal away poor).
I’m not convinced we are able to attract that level of manager at the moment. Most suggestions (that are vaguely realistic) actually have less experience of navigating Europe & success in multiple competitions. The club isn’t currently the attractive prospect it was, needs to go some to sell it.
I don’t literally mean overnight, but prior to this season he was a superb manager (utter miracle worker last season) over an extended period of time. Realistically he should still have the same skills at his core.
Cannot argue that it hasn’t been Groundhog Day for the bulk of the season though.
I think he still has the support of most fans, just about. Whether he still has the backing of the hierarchy is anyone’s guess. Whether they now have the conditions in place to be successful with or without Howe is more doubtful than whether he is still a good manager.
Some called for him to go after Brentford away last season, then look at what we achieved. Been waiting for a similar reaction all this season though.
It’s fair to have questions about whether he has the answers to our current malaise. But, context is everything & he’s been dealt a bad hand.
Howe still needs to take a long hard look at his own performance, of course. Has he over-rotated at times, under-rotated at others? Why do his subs now barely ever improve things and why do they often come far too late? Where has the nasty streak gone? Where has the defensive organisation gone?
A toxic Isak situation, a disastrous DofF appointment, reactive & panicked signings, all sowed the seeds of what we are reaping now. Then not making a single signing in Jan was poor, almost a waving of the white flag from those at the helm for this season. The main blame still lies above Howe, IMO.
We’ve lost 14 league games, the vast majority of those by a single goal. We’ve been in every single one of those games, haven’t been blown away by anyone. There’s an argument that we aren’t that far off.
However, the number of good 90 min performances this whole season are very few.
Dust settled a bit, I’m still Howe in. I can’t believe he’s become the wrong man almost overnight, given how good we were 12 months ago & over a significant period of time.
However, wanting him out is no longer a hysterical or fringe opinion. The errors he has made this season are undeniable. #NUFC
Can’t even pray for just an early goal, as that does nowt for the chances of us winning.
I’m really, really not looking forward to next Saturday’s game. As low as we are, against a team full of confidence and unbeaten in months. If we fall behind, all that frustration is going to crystallise into something potentially toxic. Pray for an early red for Bournemouth or something. #NUFC
Laughable to see so many of our ‘elite’ players being linked with top level clubs, when the standard of their performances are so far off that level at present. Only really Bruno that could justify that type of move from this season’s efforts. He’s about the only one I’d be disappointed about. #NUFC
Sheesh. No better, in some ways worse.
Feels more like the end of the Howe era is getting significantly closer. It’ll be such a painful parting of the ways. Gutting. #NUFC
Not quite the gif I thought I’d clicked on there, but…who cares? Bleak.
Another three points gone #NUFC
Just end the season now, please.
Urgh. More points slipping away from a winning position. Wouldn’t be a surprise to lose all three from this point. #NUFC
Joe suspended now, hopefully Bruno fit to come in for him. #NUFC
Those Palace subs theoretically massively improve them. Dig in, lads #NUFC
It’s not been a classic performance at all, but we lead. Hopefully getting our noses in front might lift our fragile confidence. Hopefully Palace playing midweek will drain their legs second half and we can see it out. Halfway there at least #NUFC
Shows what I know 😂😂😂 Get in, kidda!!! #NUFC
Let’s see what a bit of a rest (for the most part, some of our internationals aside) and time on the training pitch can provide us. Can’t see it solving everything overnight. Palace’s record at home isn’t great, we have a chance of three points, but I suspect we’ll have to settle for one. #NUFC
Not an #NUFC line many of us would’ve predicted. Presumably tactical choice is the main driver this time, rather than the rotation due to workload over the past half a year or so.
Really not sure Osula leading the line is a choice I’m even fractionally comfortable with, but ready to be proven wrong.
