Hey! I’m no long with KOB… I’ve taken a job somewhere but can’t announce just yet!
Look at this!!
Tammy Malaney in Cimarron, New Mexico caught a “double sun dog” this morning!
A rare “Extreme Fire Weather” risk has been issued for much of eastern and southeastern New Mexico for Monday.
The type of weather conditions we will have in place Monday is very conducive for explosive fire development if one does ignite.
Please take the next few days seriously!
Don’t go on X this evening… you might just lose the last bit of sanity you have.
If we do not get anymore Precipitation in Albuquerque through Friday (the end of February), then this will be the driest Meteorological Winter (December 1st - February 28th) on record for the city.
In the table below is how much Precipitation
For example: >100% above normal
< 100% below normal
Need this again soon. San Jon, NM a few years ago #nmwx
Today has another chance to break some record highs across the state. Though, we will see more cloud cover today compared to our Monday. Lunch plans look great across Albuquerque today! More details at Noon on the rest of the week forecast. KOB 4

Snow is possible next week! As for who... we are still waiting on the models to work out the details.
What you do need to know is it will get COLD next week. Next Tuesday, some places may not get above freezing for the daytime highs!

If you are tired of the short days already… like me, we are less than 3 weeks away from the Winter Solstice. That means after December 21st, we begin the slow process of gaining sunlight. 🙌🏼

Santa Rosa has recorded its:
- Wettest 48-hour period on record

It's also Santa Rosa's wettest November on record! #CAwx
The pacific storm has brought a good bit of moisture to much of the West Coast of the US. Some cases, over a foot (12 inches) of rain has fallen north of San Francisco, CA.
Here are some supernumerary rainbows that I've caught in the visible spectrum:
Possible Thanksgiving week storm coming our way next week. Warming trend begins today through the weekend. I’ll be on at Noon with the latest. ❄️☀️🌧️ #NMwx

These are the highest SPC day 1 convective outlooks issued for each location in 2024 so far.
Cool thing about this is I am seeing more and more each morning from Twitter. It’s so refreshing to see the scientists and meteorologists I love once again on my feed! 🙏🏼
The bomb cyclone in the Pacific Northwest caused hundreds of thousands of power outages - and major damage to peoples property. Here's what is left of my friend's gazebo in Washington State! Fortunately, all those impacts will stay far away from NM as the storm pushes farther inland. #nmwx
Juniper combined with the dry air is really causing some havoc on my allergies today...
