Pirate Joe's - Wikipedia

Also en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirate_... will send you down a rabbit hole. I visited them in 2013.

One more thing of interest is the oddity of Point Roberts, Washington, a small inlet that was overlooked when treaties were signed, so it's a lip that is US. I frequently mail things there because Canadians purchase PO Boxes to have a US address

There's a profitable business opportunity by formalizing this loophole as gig work.

Essentially you purchase on behalf of a foreign/US buyer, then you ship as a gift, collect a handling fee and reimburse the cost and avoid any tariff.

I'd keep my eye out, It might already exist.

What I've started to advise my buyers is to find an American friend to purchase the item and then have them send it overseas as a gift to avoid the fees.

Usually a few hours later someone else in the US then buys it. I assume they're taking the advice, especially since I'm selling mostly rare books

So this harmonization code system for eBay, @404media.co Is what sellers had to deal with up to maybe 2020?

You had to slap on an extra sheet with these codes and sometimes you had to cancel an order because there's complicated lists of prohibited import items for each country.

It was a mess

I was a fan, donated money, bought the books. Then when the opportunity arose they unzipped and pissed on my face.

@404media.co I'm a subscriber, going on the 30th, really like what they do.

But honestly maybe I should skip it

when it comes to podcasters, @mikeduncan.bsky.social @thedollop.bsky.social and @iwriteok.bsky.social are all total assholes in RL. In each case, in my 5 seconds of interacting I shared a thing I spent months researching interviewing, cross checking...

Each one was basically "cool. fuck off"

Honestly I already do. And I only trust keyboard events as wakeup.

it might be too much to ask for but a linux laptop that doesn't routinely freak out and freeze when you put the lid down would be just great.

how do you people put up with pyright, ruff or any of that horseshit? It's 100% wrong 100% of the time.

Let's admit it. Google is killing itself by intentionally making the most unsophisticated and broad interpretation of your query possible

If I look into the Linux kernel source I'm sure it says

MCP Made Easy | Cline

This is the most complicated, buggy broken thing I've seen in weeks, of course it's labeled "made easy" with a "quickstart". Broken hot pile of garbage

I've done this test and so far only models over about 100b can get it right

who was the ruler of hungary during the administration of calvin coolidge

it was kingdom of huungary, but there was no king - there was a defacto head of state, Miklós Horthy. It's contextually tricky.

"smart" is a term developers use when they want to ignore user input

They've been running this scam for decades: intentionally mess things up, blame scapegoats on it and rally the base.

It's the same as sabotaging public resources in order to privatize them.

They're destroying things now in order to have things to blame "liberals" on later

But they're in an actual death cult. Look at these people, they're totally cooked.

Why isn't reboot --force default? Whatever dumb bullshit that's breaking your system making you reboot is going to also break your reboot.

People aren't just rebooting for entertainment.

It should assume broken

I realized that when printing documents that have links, the underlining of the links could be done as a digital barcodes so your phone can scan and resolve the link.
