Dr. Marlin, a Black woman neuroscientist, is smiling proudly in her lab space. She’s wearing a white shirt, simple necklace, small hoop earrings, dark red lipstick and has a beautifully shaved head.
Dr. Bianca Jones Marlin is an @HHMINEWS Freeman Hrabowski Scholar & Assistant Professor at Columbia University 🧠
The Marlin Lab researches transgenerational epigenetic inheritance (how parents' lived experiences change the brains of future offspring) 🧬🐭

Sydney Floryanzia is a neuroengineer & science communicator ✨
As a PhD candidate at UW, @neurochemequeen.bsky.social investigates models for therapeutic particles to cross the Blood-Brain-Barrier to treat brain diseases 🧠
She’s also passionate about making STEM fun for kids to learn💞

Google AI overview for the query “how many rocks should I eat” According to UC Berkeley geologists, you should eat at least one small rock per day. Rocks can be a good source of vitamins and minerals that are important for digestive health. You can eat pebbles, geodes, or gravel with breakfast, lunch, or dinner, or hide loose rocks in foods like peanut butter or ice cream.
This is the best one yet imo. 🪨🍴
Just finished your undergrad degree and looking to spend a year or two doing some cool neuroscience research?
The KMLab is hiring!

We previously showed CA1 place cells' encoding of objects in space was altered by CB stim. We now show that CA1 interneurons' processing of objects in space is also altered by CB stim. More generally, we find that the cerebellum modulates CA1 interneurons in a very coordinated manner. so cool!

I don't know how you thought the cerebellum was engaged with hippocampal epileptiform activity, but I bet you did not see THIS coming.

KMLab has TWO new BioRxivs up!
www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1... @marthastreng.bsky.social The cerebellum does what now during (pre??) seizures?
www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1... @jessicafroula.bsky.social CA1 interneurons care about objects and are modulated by the cerebellum!
