As always, #GoHabs. But if Buffalo won that wouldn’t suck. They haven’t made it to the playoffs in like 15 years and have never won a cup and I love an underdog.

They’re not normally my team, but I went to high school outside Buffalo and I am genuinely excited for the Buffalo Sabres.
For @slate.com & @economichardship.bsky.social, I reported on how chaos and changes surrounding SNAP benefits are taking a toll.
People described endless fear and worry over feeding their kids, where their next meal will come from, and whether SNAP could become even more difficult to access.

Lawsuits by doctors and other nonhospital providers now dominate health care collections in Connecticut, accounting for more than 80% of cases filed against patients and their families in recent years.
The lawsuits are typically over bills of less than $3,000, but the impact can be devastating.
I do not want to create an account or open a subscription I just want to buy a thing and never hear from you again why is this so hard.
this will be helpful for those who need it (eg, people who have strokes or lost the ability to type/communicate), but will have terrifying repercussions for everything else (companies having your neural data?!)

In the 1970s and '80s, Minneapolis had numerous public sexual spaces. In the years to come, they would close until the final bathhouse ended service in 1988, one day before the ban took place. Raids and public fears about the AIDS crisis contributed to the city council unanimously passing a ban.
I *love* living in a society.
@jdcmedlock.bsky.social talks about tax positivity, and IMO the way to get there beyond meming is helping people understand what their tax dollars do. Because it is actually a lot! Even if you’re not personally, currently on a poverty program like Medicaid or SNAP.
Something I find very impressive about Mamdani is the way he highlights existing programs and how they serve New Yorkers.
I live in DC and the paid family leave here after my daughter was born has basically guaranteed I’m never complaining about city taxes again.
Which really just lends to the “cursed by a witch” hypothesis.
I am traveling for a family issue and it was too difficult to try to bring the baby. So. Not a fun time or a vacation. I just don’t have any responsibilities in the early morning here.
I slept in past 7 AM for the first time since before my daughter was born and somehow it made me feel more tired. Have I been cursed by a witch?

I am unclear on why anyone would accept a management position when the CEO says he’s going to lay them off as soon as he figures out how.
“New and improved” also. No one wants that! Absolutely no one!
Apparently the soda brand went out of business. RIP Cott cherry soda, Dr. Brown’s could never.
My favorite deli in Montreal switched cherry soda brands after like literally a hundred years of having the same one and I’m not saying it’s an anti-autistic hate crime but I’m also not not saying that.
