Punchy start to David Lammy's statement in the Commons on Syria

He says the UK chose not to reengage with Assad when others did

"We said no because Assad is a butcher with the blood of countless innocents on his hands"

"Assad is the rat of Damascus fleeing to Moscow"

Tonight Portsmouth played its part in marking #WorldAIDSDay2024. We can create a world where we end AIDS if everyone’s rights are protected including the right to health services, which too many still are unable to access. Fantastic event Pompey Pride

Good news: the Bibby Stockholm is about to be retired from its role as a grotty floating quasi-prison for asylum seekers.

Bad news: they will be dispersed all over the place, but none locally, so any friendships that had managed to form will be torn apart.

British Non Dom’s and foreign billionaires owning our press was bad enough.

Now an American one is dictating what questions the Prime Minister is asked on This Morning.

Insane and hideously depressing state of affairs

Watching debate on assisted dying this morning, just to make it clear as I have done to my constituents - Friday is one vote that will lead to weeks and weeks of scrutiny. Any changes in the future in slippery slope argument would, as it has with abortion law, have to be decided by parliament.

MPs raise questions about Chancellor Rachel Reeves' CV Claims the chancellor embellished her work achievements were seized on by Tory and Reform MPs at PMQs.

Very interesting to note the selective reporting the BBC & established press continues to engage in...

I don't remember this level of scrutiny of Boris Johnson, a man who had lied as a journalist, and then made a number of misleading statements, and told lies, as PM.

I know the threshold. Your mum can still claim benefits if she's pennies over it. Including council benefit worth over 1k a year, worth far more than £200 WFP, and housing benefit if she rents. Contact the council, and they will help her claim it.
