Digging Up Prehistoric Britain's Most Desirable Neighbourhood | Time Team: Bodmin Moor | Odyssey YouTube video by Odyssey - Ancient History Documentaries

There’s a million free episodes online and it ran from 1994 to 2012 or so, so in and of itself it’s an interesting record of how archaeology techniques changed over that time. Also it’s got the guy from Blackadder! youtu.be/RH-OD_eKslo?...

Not the most encouraging sign to be getting alerts like this before it even starts snowing

The anchors in the NBC Olympics studio explaining they have to delay the slalom. Carmen Sandiago stole the freaking mountain. "Very little retail value" and "because she can" are phrases that are repeated. Footage of an athlete standing by a big hole, hands on hips. Frustration written on their face

When I took printmaking in college, it was very funny to me to be working with (comparatively) dainty drypoint and etching plates and watch the kids on the other side of the room hauling around giants hunks of stone.

the magic of the Muppets is that there are two fourth walls. they constantly break the one that reminds the audience they are performers. they NEVER break the one that reminds the audience they are puppets. this dynamic is the key to their entire comedy style

At one point during those storms I remember having to go out and the whole street looked like that, and the only clear path was right down the middle, about half a lane wide.

Yeah, I chewed through the books over winter break while I was waiting for episodes to drop, although I do kind of wish I hadn’t gotten impatient and did the show all the way through before the books so I could enjoy 5 and 6 unspoiled.

For a laugh, I did use Copilot to ask how to disable it on Mac, and then it scolded me about my tone when I said it was a stupid feature

2 months ago 2 0 1 0

Microsoft is so desperate for Copilot adoption that they’ve added a floating icon that covers part of the spreadsheet in Excel, and the only way to disable it is to run a VBA macro every time you open a file.

Didn't break out a yardstick to measure how deep the snow is, but my neighbor gave up on having her pug walk around outside because it was over his head.
