Beautiful story @nmaziak.bsky.social. Really fun collaboration with @vaquerizasjm.bsky.social. Love that this started through a casual conversation during my time in UK. When posed a challenge we were eager to see if we could deplete GAF and Zld together. So pleased that it worked. πŸŽ‰

Proud of the lab for helping teach kids and adults about Drosophila research and the importance of funding foundational science at the Wisconsin Science Festival today. Couldn't ask for a more engaged and enthusiastic group.

We are excited to share our new preprint demonstrating that nucleic acid interactions with SUZ12 constrain PRC2 activity, establishing a kinetic buffer essential for targeted gene silencing and revealing vulnerabilities in diffuse midline gliomas.

Chip (Ldb1) is a putative cofactor of Zelda forming a functional bridge to CBP during zygotic genome activation Chip/Ldb1 is a crucial cofactor regulating enhancer function and chromatin interactions. Check our latest with Yacine Kherdjemil and @eileen-furlong.bsky.social and our colleagues, where we show Chip (Ldb1) is essential only at a narrow window of embryogenesis overlapping ZGA. It functionally and physically bridges CBP to Zelda to regulate gene expression. www.cell.com/molecular-ce...

Lucky to have the Lewis lab right next door. This collaboration really took advantage of our shred interests and unique strengths. Also a fearless grad student- Sam Krabbenhoft.

Nice to see this highly collaborative effort pay off and to see our paper out! Love that all the tools in Drosophila allowed us to get at mechanistic details of this conserved process.

Amazing examples of the fundamental principles that can be learned by studying developing organisms. Great job!
