Congrats Tracy on taking the Rock League season 1 title!
This article has inspired me to post a thread of posters. They start in the next post.
You develop an instant global consciousness, a people orientation, an intense dissatisfaction with the state of the world, and a compulsion to do something about it. From out there on the moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, ‘Look at that, you son of a bitch

Lady Henriettta, an obsidian-wielding mutant, on the cover of Uncanny X-Men 14.
GODDAMN I love making comics.
Okay. So we did a story very dear to my heart in Uncanny X-Men, about mutants during the Jim Crow era, called THE DARK ARTERY.
It featured a new character named LADY HENRIETTA, and people just took to her in a beautiful way.
They asked for more.

N.S. Premier Houston’s killing of the Coastal Protection Act was a “failure of leadership,” and a “failure” to have “a backbone.” Or maybe a selectively soft backbone that bends, like his knees, before wealthy developers and powerful industrial interests?
“(Tim) Halman appears to be deflecting, trying to find some way to blame Ottawa for funding a nature agreement designed to help the province protect its land and waters, and misleading the legislature by saying there are no timelines,” reports @joanbaxter.bsky.social
Letters that spell out Tim Ousthim hangs on a black iron fence on a city street that is filled with protesters.
A pic from the Shoulder to Shoulder rally at Province House in Halifax. There was an excellent turnout! #NovaScotia
The depth here is awesome. ❤️😍. Well done!

DS9 "The Search, Part II"; Garak in the Replimat, leaning in, with caption: is that our leaders have simply gone insane.
I vote that we make this the new “Tom Holland Umbrella”. When you see it, repost it, that’s the rule.

Thanks for the delivery @seebo429.bsky.social!
A premier with the largest majority in Nova Scotia’s history treats reporters as opposition members. These availabilities are strictly timed and he’d rather argue than answer questions. This is not being open and accountable to Nova Scotians.
‘After creating a $1.2 billion deficit by overspending outside of the budget, the government has made the ideological choice to cut programs for people and communities.’
They could have raised the PST and restored tolls on Cobequid Pass and the Halifax Harbour bridges.
Highly recommend all Nova Scotians read this article by @timbousquet.bsky.social @halifaxexaminer.ca for a clear-eyed analysis of what’s happening here. Link in next post.
While Andy Fillmore may claim that HRM “has to” do austerity cuts, because other municipalities or the other orders of government are doing them, it’s not true. Cutting municipal staff & services won’t make HRM more efficient. Bringing more services in-house & relying less on contracts might.
The minister can’t provide a single coherent reason for cutting $130M in grants to community organizations.

When Feed Nova Scotia is speaking up to say this NS provincial budget will “strip away community services and leave those living in poverty further behind”, someone sure as hell better be listening.
Every Nova Scotian who is living with food insecurity represents a political failure.
So Premier Tim Houston is saying Nova Scotia—which relies heavily on tourism—doesn’t need tourism centres. After all, people have cell phones! Damn straight. It’s past time NS entered the technological age. Allow me to support Tim with my own experience: 1/
Conservatives and wannabe authoritarians do not want an educated populace.
Costco is a really popular subject for business-success case studies but I feel like business guys kinda lose interest when the upshot of the study is like "just operate with scrupulous integrity in all facets and levels of your business for four decades" and not some easy-to-fix gimmick
Government that routinely received and spent billions outside the budget now has to live without that extra revenue www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
