I can't believe this Todd McFarlane variant cover for the first issue of our SHE-SPAWN run.
I mean, holy CRAP that's hot.

peaceful civil rights marchers in Selma, Alabama, about to cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge where they will be attacked by state troopers and local law enforcement
Today marks the 61st anniversary of “Bloody Sunday,” which occurred on March 7, 1965, a pivotal moment in the American Civil Rights Movement. During a peaceful march in Selma, AL, demonstrators were brutally attacked by state troopers. This event led to the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
Bernard LaFayette, who died Thursday, laid the foundations of the Selma, Alabama, campaign that culminated in the passage of the Voting Rights Act. He was a Freedom Rider and helped found the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee. n.pr/4csIbWh

Picture of Marjane Satrapi alongside a quote from her. The quote reads: The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same... - Marjane Satrapi, Iranian-French graphic novelist
Thinking about this quote from Persepolis creator Marjane Satrapi again.
As a kid, I was dismissive of Rainbow Brite as fluffy “girl stuff” but reading the back story of her creator gives me a very different perspective
This is someone who embraced all that cheerful, bright color in defiance of the horrors she survived
May her memory be a blessing 🌈🦄

So sad to share that legendary colorist Tatjana Wood has passed away at the age of 99. Her pioneering painterly touch graced scores of DC & Vertigo series. She was truly one of a kind and a special friend. May her memory be a blessing.

In Star Trek Deviations (IDW's what if) Threads of Destiny, an alternate take on City on the Edge of Forever, the Guardian sends Lt Uhura to an early Civil Rights Movement moment. You can easily hear Nichelle Nichols' voice & will recall how unflappable Uhura is in most situations. Beam it up!
Happy New Comic Book Day!
Rogue 2 and Spawn: Rat City 22 are both in stores today.
If you're not snowed in and can get to your shop, you should pick them up. They're both awesome!
Starting my yearly rewatch ☕️🥧
