I wanted to give you a little sneak teaser of my new novel, out on March 13 next year from @boldwoodbooks.bsky.social I’ll be telling you all much more about it soon, but in the meantime, here’s the best Christmas present that one of the central characters ever received!
It’s the final day of my 12 Novels of Christmas which means it’s my 12th novel The Woman with all the Answers. So many midlife women are somehow making Christmas happen and every woman should have a Pauline from Halifax in their life! @boldwoodbooks.bsky.social #books #novels #kindle #booksky
It’s day 11 of my 12 Novels of Christmas and it’s my 11th novel In Little Stars. It’s a modern day reimagining of Romeo and Juliet set against a backdrop of a Brexit divided Leeds. It was sadly inspired by a racist attack on a friend and her ten-year-old son on a train. It’s also my favourite novel.
Day 10 of my 12 Novels of Christmas and it’s my 10th novel, One Moment. It was Radio 2 Book Club pick but unfortunately we went into Covid lockdown just after it came out. So if you missed the heartwarming story of Finn and Kaz’s friendship, now’s a good time to catch up! #booksky
Day 9 of my 12 Novels of Christmas & my 9th novel - the Richard & Judy Book Club pick, The Last Thing She Told Me. When Nicola’s gran tells her on her deathbed that there are babies at the bottom of the garden, Nicola must decide if unearthing family secrets risks tearing her family apart. #booksky
Day 8 of my 12 Novels of Christmas and it’s my eighth novel After I’ve Gone. Jess Mount checks her timeline and discovers it’s skipped forward 18 months to a day when family and friends are posting tributes to her following her death. Who can she trust? #BookSky
It’s that time of year when as fast as you try to empty your inbox, some random company you bought something from in January sends you a ‘festive greeting’ or plugs their sale.
It’s day 7 of my 12 Novels of Christmas, which means it’s my 7th novel, While My Eyes Were Closed. It became the 5th biggest selling novel on Amazon the year it was published! It was my first psychological thriller and was inspired by my young son being disturbingly good at hide and seek! #booksky
Day 6 of my 12 Novels of Christmas and it’s my sixth novel, The Marriage Mender. Alison is a relationship counsellor but the only marriage she can’t seem to save is her own. Family drama, an ex with serious issues, laughter and tears, it’s got it all!
Budding writers: we'll soon be announcing details of how to enter the Finchale Prize for Short Fiction 2026.

£1000 and a rosey glow to the winner.

It’s day 5 of my 12 novels of Christmas & my 5th novel The Mummyfesto. Set in Hebden Bridge (way before Riot Girls!) it tells the story of 3 women who decide to set up a party & stand in the general election - because can you imagine how much stuff they’d get done! #booksky
It’s day 4 of my 12 Novels of Christmas and it’s my fourth novel And Then it Happened, inspired by a wonderful woman I interviewed when I was a journalist who had cared for her husband in a coma at home for 10 years. #booksky
It’s day 3 of my 12 Novels of Christmas which means it’s my third novel Things I Wish I’d Known, which evolved from my unpublished coming of age novel called Idol. #booksky
It’s day 2 of my 12 novels of Christmas which means it’s my second novel 10 Reasons Not to Fall in Love - the only novel I know of inspired by a balloon modeller! #booksky
Thank you, that’s lovely to hear! (And I still have the yellow one too!) You should find them all in libraries and hope you enjoy the new novel which is out in March.
Kicking off my 12 Novels of Christmas countdown (aka my back catalogue!) with my 1st novel. I Did a Bad thing. Novel no 13 coming from @boldwoodbooks.bsky.social in March! #BookSky
I’ve got a 12 Books of Christmas countdown starting tomorrow where I’ll be talking about each of my novels and revealing some BTS secrets. All this because I realised it’ll be the only Christmas I’ll have 12 published novels - book no 13 will be out from @boldwoodbooks.bsky.social in March! #booksky
I’ve been getting these regularly to my author website. They usually drop in some specific details about my books (no doubt from AI) before asking for money to promote my books. I just block but you could send a link to iplayer with ‘you may wish to note the above’!
When your editor gives your new novel a big thumbs up and the editorial note ‘her Bambi diatribe is brilliant’ - which I reckon is a first 😂 My new novel will be out next March from @boldwoodbooks.bsky.social #booksky
If you enjoyed #RiotWomen last night, my novel The Woman with All the Answers from @boldwoodbooks.bsky.social is set up the road in Halifax, also deals with the rage & brain fog of perimenopause and has a smart speaker going rogue to become the midlife mentor we all need. #BookSky amzn.eu/d/dT3AHa3
Dr. Jane Goodall filmed an interview with Netflix in March 2025 that she understood would only be released after her death.

In years to come people will watch that press conference held in the week the UN confirmed a genocide in Gaza and wonder how a UK PM and a US president didn’t mention it and handpicked journalists they knew wouldn’t either.

HEY!
I'm trying to raise money to send as many books as I can to a new Mobile Library being set up to support homeless people.
It's being organised by Cee, founder of London based charity "PINT Giving".
I'm donating £100, but if you can help too, i'd be really grateful.
