This afternoon at the University of San Francisco:
Important article about the declining influence of AIPAC in Congress. www.commondreams.org/opinion/aipa...
My latest article, just posted looks at how alarmist and hawkish messaging from Democratic leaders helped pave the way for the war on Iran.

Can you imagine the reaction if a Democratic president attacked a conservative pope using the kind of language that Trump just used in attacking Pope Leo?
I'm still undecided in the California governor's race, but Katie Porter is among my top choices.
Huffington Post is referring to Trump's anti-Pope trolling, depicting himself as a healing Christ, and the outrage that has followed as "Don T's inferno"
As the cartoonist notes, "After President Trump posted a social media message threatening to destroy Iranian civilization, his defenders and supporters argued that words are meaningless, that he wasn’t serious, and that nothing he says is meant to be taken seriously."
Launching an illegal, unnecessary, and utterly devastating war isn't a moral issue?
Pretty amazing that this cartoon appeared in the New York Times:

Despite polls showing 80% of Democrats and Independents in favor, the Democratic National Committee has blocked a resolution calling for the U.S. to join the vast majority of the world's nations in recognizing Palestine alongside Israel.
Despite close to 85% of Democrats opposing offensive military aid to Netanyahu, the Democratic National Committee has determined to maintain current party position that aid to Israel remain "ironclad" and without conditions.
Some of the many hundreds of Lebanese civilians killed in the U.S.-backed Israeli bombing of Lebanon in recent weeks.
The Supreme Court has ruled that state bans on conversion therapy for minors are illegal, so parents can now force their LGBTQ+ children and teens to see therapists programs who try to change their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Peace groups are launching a campaign to block Trump's efforts to send an additional 20,000 bombs to Netanyahu at taxpayer expense. Unfortunately, many prominent Democrats in Congress have failed to register any objections. Tell them to say no to Trump!

The United States has just bombed Sharif University in Tehran, the most prestigious university in Iran and among the top one hundred in the world in civil engineering. Ironically, it has been a hotbed of student opposition to the Iranian regime.
