Sir, do you see the irony here?
And if you don’t have a clear understanding of the second order effects, in this market, you just “buy semis” and hope for the best.
I think the market is ignoring it for now because there is no real understanding of the second order effects of the commodities that have like 5-10% of global production offline/unmovable.
SoH is more than just Russian energy being removed for a bit. That was like 4% of global, and fairly quickly shifted buyers around to become a near non-issue. This is obviously energy mostly, but other stuff that can’t easily be resolved by just shifting around who buys it.
I mean, you kind of walked into that trying to explain pogs, right?
So, the guy who thinks that witches have taken over California is now the acting Secretary of the Navy? Super.
Billionaire funded TPUSA's goal is to police public discourse such that anyone to their left who speaks truthfully about what Charlie Kirk said or did, using his own words as evidence, will not be allowed to speak those truths to college students in red states. www.nytimes.com/2026/04/22/u...
We one uped them and did a pedo mobster. Check mate, Israel. You can’t find a worse leader if you tried.
Starting a mid-decade redistricting war only to end up with -1 seats is the same fine strategic genius and subtle grasp of game theory that brough us the Strait of Hormuz.
The blockade which Iran has publicly stated is an act of war which directly invalidates the ceasefire.
He is extending the ceasefire that Iran has already said was broken by the US and therefore no longer applies? And the market buys it? Insane.
almost like his framework is just wrong
"That a name evocative of Disneyland has been applied to a depopulated, decimated swath of Ukrainian coal-and-steel country could appear jarring as Europe’s deadliest fighting since World War II continues to rage."
Are we confident the VP is on the plane?
yeah, Russia is getting pushed to the breaking point because of the war. I have seen the same reports around internet, banks and taxes. I have seen it referred to as "Dutch Disease" as their war economy has consumed the country and now energy revs are falling waaaaay short of what they need.
I will never forget a solar contractor telling me in early 2025 that solar credits were safe because “trumps pick for energy sec is a Colorado guy, who will make sure renewable will get support.”
Never talked to the dude again. Fucking Texan moron.
Even better, it’s just 200 “employees”
Who cares about them?
If a ship of 2M barrels of crude is sunk, they can’t get that back. If 2000 people die, more babies will be made. Capitalism 101.
A healthy % of people already hate AI, just imagine the hatred if those are the companies that are directly bailed out in the next recession…
Eyal Weizman: "The most systematic destruction was caused by D9 bulldozers made by the US company Caterpillar. These giant armored machines stabbed their blades into the ground, churning up fields, felling orchards, flattening homes, tearing through roads and ploughing through cemeteries."
If only we had learned something during WW2…
21. Some cultures have produced vital advances; others remain dysfunctional and regressive. All cultures are now equal. Criticism and value judgments are forbidden. Yet this new dogma glosses over the fact that certain cultures and indeed subcultures ... have produced wonders. Others have proven middling, and worse, regressive and harmful. 22. We must resist the shallow temptation of a vacant and hollow pluralism. We, in America and more broadly the West, have for the past half century resisted defining national cultures in the name of inclusivity. But inclusion into what?
⚠️ Palantir released what it describes as a vision for “The Technological Republic” in which it argues AGAINST democratic and cultural pluralism and FOR militaristic supremacy enforced by a technocratic elite who produce AI weaponry.
These points stand out:
Damn, it’s been a long time since I’ve had a black and tan. That’s on the short list now, thanks for the reminder.
I got a 4 year old. I’m not trying to make a pizza that takes 45-60 mins to cook, lol.
And to take this back to the original comment from @cascoinfoundation.org I have never, not once, even considered making Chicago deep dish. Fascia, pan, Detroit, grandmas, NY, bowling alley, Neapolitan…but never Chicago.
It almost doesn’t matter how it turns out, he just loves making it.
