As someone with 30 years of brainwashing, such that I get a dopamine hit every time I hear a Nintendo sound effect, I had a good time at the Mario Galaxy movie

Continuing to chip away at Hades 2 in between bigger games. Second time beating Chronos, pretty proud of how fast he went down this time.
personal observation, not critical thought: the speed with which I realized Pizza Movie was doing just absolutely nothing for me was a real “ah yeah, im in my 30s now” moment
movie guy at a holiday family get together required real skill, not unlike being a dj. Easter’s especially tricky, more vibes-based than the holidays that have bespoke movies. spinning OG Wonka to kick things off for now, we’ll see where the day takes us
The Pitt fandom psychos on the other site are kind of infuriating but at least there’s something going on over there
Pokopia credits
Pokopia’s story done… maybe the best game in the series lol
they brought back energy drinks but they aren’t included in the sip club, blatant ensippification
Inventing a new bit where I post about Panera Bread’s Sip Club in the same way Xbox fans would post about Gamepass.
“It’s the best deal in drinking!”
“They’re the most consumer-friendly fast food chain in the industry!”
fucked my back up so I’ve been binging One Piece for the first time with my 4 year old, 10 episodes in
well hold on, that could be a longer conversation
we don’t talk enough about how the mom in ponyo is lowkey bad 🥵
It does, you just have to use a Switch 2 controller for reasons??
Breath of the Wild is caffeine but Tears of the Kingdom is weed
they’re the best of us
Good Fortune by the way, as three star as it gets. Keanu MVP.
Watched a movie for the first time in like a month, been watching a lot of TV and Anime, and mostly gaming. Might as well call me a coworker at this point.
AI slop
Spent the night getting yelled at on the other site by pro-AI vegans, who are definitely all real people using real accounts.
Re-entering America later today. You guys were supposed to fix shit up while I was gone, wtf
My 4 year old loves penguins, and stumbled upon a Feathers McGraw plush while we were in London and bought it as a souvenir. I’ve now shown her both The Wrong Trousers and Vengence Most Fowl, and she has become McGraw’s strongest soldier.
I miss when the first Pokémon we’d see from a new gen were random guys like Togepi, Munchlax, or Zoroark, rather than how they just lead with the starters every time now.
on the other hand, Nomadland > Coda > EEAO is one of the worst runs ever, so maybe we’re just on a lucky streak
Don’t know if I’m becoming more of a square in my thirties, or if the Oscars efforts to bring in a younger and more diverse voting
have successfully paid off… Because I think Oppenheimer > Anora > OBAA is the best run of consecutive Best Pic winners in long time
I talk about it so much, my kids are *convinced* OBAA is the coolest movie ever, despite not being allowed to watch it and having no idea what happens in it. Told them it won best pic this morning and they screamed “ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER!!!” like those kids in the SNL skit lol
Slept through the Oscars because I’m on vacation and they started at 11 PM here, will probably watch tonight, but I guess I’m not as radical as some of you because liked all of the wins I saw, except for the Weapons lady. Very good wins, at least going by Oscar track records.
Movies are political and it's good to discuss their politics, but if you view a film primarily as an ideology delivery system that is caked in stupid art and entertainment and pleasure that it uses to distract the dumb unwashed and make What It Is Really Saying palatable, you might be the problem.
England is pretty cool, hitting up the home of the original chud today
We have made a point to take our 7 and 4 year olds to the theater as often as we can, which with a busy school year is still only about 3-5 times a year, and it does mostly consist of Disney and animated movies, but they love it which has been really exciting to see.

feels like it some days, brother
