Preorders for my debut novel are open! [SNL voice] it's got everything... astronauts, Lego nerds, aroace characters, Taco Bell, existential dread, letters between two people separated by time and space, the Snarkiest Man You've Ever Met, and uh [checks smudged writing on hand] a vodka grandma!
Cover art for The Night Stranger, left, and Change In The Cushions, right. The Night Stranger cover features large white text around the image of a blue house with gold light streaming from the windows in the rain. A man in a trench coat is standing on the front steps. The Change In The Cushions coverhas a soft blue backdrop with white space for the black handwritten-looking title. Below sits a beat up old brown couch with a strip of duct tape on the arm and white author name and subtitle text over it.

My technique is to take a zillion pictures while standing in front of a mirror so I can make a face at me, stick the phone in front, and snap a pic. 90% of them turn out weird, awkward, at a bad angle, bad lighting, or I blinked. The few acceptable ones as the ones I ever show to anyone. π
Gave my sister a little existential crisis when I told her that some people read βofcβ as of course and others read it as βof fucking courseβ, and a thousand emails and slack chats flashed before her eyes

I want to do a fun spin on something I've been seeing go around. (And because I want to talk about my book more because I'm hyperfocused on it right now π)

Update to the update: I watched some more tutorials and Wolf Cut the Butterfly Cut. I have layers for days, and my hair is MUCH lighter. Still figuring out how to style it without a bunch of products now that it's not all the same length (perpetual braids before.)
Update: I watched some tutorials, felt bold, annnd did a layered cut that I'm super happy with! My hair has always has curly tips and been mostly straight on top, and with lighter layers, it looks much more curly. β₯
I didn't think I had an accent until I went to Chicago and everyone there, after two minutes of hearing me speak, said "you're from California, aren't you?" and I was all, like, "Duuuuuude haaaw'd ya knoooooow?"

I've had 3-foot-long hair for my whole life, and on my birthday I decided to cut about a foot of that off. Now I see why people love layered haircuts so much; it already feels much lighter, but it's thick at the bottom and makes a triangle shape. I think I need some layers to take the weight off...
It's my birthday today. Rain is a tall order to wish for in July, but there was a big gray storm cloud out there this morning before it got all bright and sunny. π

Armin Shimerman is great at stealing scenes! He plays well off of most of the rest of the cast, too. Quark really works for both serious and funny storylines. Great character. β₯

I love DS9! Someday I'll finally watch my way through the whole thing. Quark is my favorite character. π
