Absolutely true and see my response to an earlier, similar post. The powerful hide their responsibility for the policy failure and the workers get the blame

No, the government actually responded well to Covid, after a shaky start, better than most countries, in fact. Also, in my own experience, the public hospital system is fine (and free) but this is a private pathology lab in a small regional town - law unto itself

Important observation; the powerful avoid sanction for their lousy leadership and the workers bear both the cost of coming to work while sick and the criticisms of the clients

The whole web is built on a primary grace: that the people visiting you are trustworthy. It costs a little something for me to serve my webpage to everyone who goes there. When the number of scrapers outnumbers the number of humans by an order of magnitude, this grace is fragile.

I haven't had a long enough breath to talk about how AI is ruining the open web. API after API I used to use is closing - literally because paying the $$$ required to feed these impersonation machines is prohibitive.

Dr Richard Denniss dismantles the gas industry’s favorite threat.
If taxes kill investment, why is the gas industry rushing to Norway to pay 78%? 🙄

On the other hand, no one ever lost money by telling billionaires what they want to hear. The airwaves are full of the oligarchs' minions, reciting their creeds as if these were some kind of arcane truth they've stumbled across. Almost every political conversation is dominated by these elite lies.

The SAVE Act Will End Voting Rights for Women in America The SAVE Act has passed the House—we cannot let it pass the Senate

BREAKING: The so called 'SAVE' Act has FAILED in the Senate and will not become law.

I wrote this piece on how in reality, this is the Voter Restriction Act to prevent women from voting. It is fascism and would have installed Trump as a permanent dictator. www.qasimrashid.com/p/the-save-a...

If you hate Santos as much as 🧶👵 do (for their greed and environmemtal abuse) you’ll love reading what economist & former secretary of Australian Department of Treasury Ken Henry (2001-2011) said to the Senate Select Committee on the Taxation of Gas Resources earlier today. Pass it round Nannas.

A brand new one has just been posted and it's already getting engagement.

As ever, study the background at "Piccadilly Circus" for the AI slop "tells" - e.g. people just merging into each other when walking on the road and the neon "Shapftsebury" billboard making zero sense
