Really it depends on what sales tax jurisdiction you are in. Most states don’t tax groceries but do tax “prepared” food so you need a working legal def of a sandwich in some cases.

Think there is maybe a 50/50 chance the WA income tax survives a court challenge (regardless of the policy merits).

At my catholic college they would show up and hand out pocket new testaments and ask if you had heard about the bible. Always felt super passive aggressive.

I got a form letter the last few years from Lisa Brown’s office asking me to inform clients about the WFTC. The list of WA CPAs is public so not a bad idea to increase uptake. Of course the people most likely to be WFTC eligible are not working with a professional accountant so it’s not perfect.

… filings and you can probably get a decent list idea of who should be filing. But there are some things the DoR might not have visibility on unless they initiate an audit.

& I’m not sure exactly how the WA DoR would determine if someone failed to file if they were supposed to. From experience the DoR people can access unemployment tax filings which would generally have the amounts a business paid an individual for the year. Combine that with the Excise tax…

From a quick skim of the bill the returns are only required if a person owes tax. Similar to the cap gains tax, no filing required if you are below the threshold.

Is the ESPN+ different than the local broadcast? The OTA broadcast in Spokane seems fine (by like Spokane local broadcast standards).

Picture of basketball scores from a TNT broadcast. Syracuse’s logo is a dark blue when it is normally a bright orange.
