Smoking is often sign of recession and economical hardships.
Ironic, seeing how expensive it is.

The vast majority aren’t native English speakers & as captions are incredibly common outside of the English speaking world, I’d wager the vast majority do, in fact, use captions.

Even then, doesn’t ruin anything for those who don’t need them. At worst they can just turn them off.

I don’t even understand why captions aren’t on by default, it’s simply just the better option.

It won’t ruin anything for those that need them but will greatly improve the experience for those that do.

I get it but they're not "not doing anything"

-Fought tooth & nail against refunds in court
-Incredibly slow to remove neo nazi content on Steam
-The different cut for big and small studios
-Lootboxes & gambling they push & and refuse to remove

I like Steam but they're no saint. Far from it.

Saw this on Reddit, the top comment: This is why the 30% is justified.

Just so tired of the Steam worship & “Valve can do no wrong” mentality. Some good features do not make ‘em a consumer champion.

Hell, Netflix burns nearly an exabyte daily but nobody goes “that’s why the price hike makes sense”

All good mate.
We all have our crispy mornings.
Acknowledging it is already more than the vast majority.

Could be AI or not, not really taking sides for that. Although I do think the weird geometry of the wings do support your position.

Have a good one! ✌️

This became a bit too much about Sterling & BotW, pardon for the sidetrack.

This might be a me issue. I just don’t like “x is ass” statements. If my mates do that, it’s one thing, internet strangers doing it is another.

You do you, of course, just not a fan of absolutes.

Have a good one, mate!

how unbreakable games would break the open world formula, how it removes abstract barriers like lvls & attributes, etc.

But when you say “it’s the worst system & never fun” there’s no room for intrigue, for curiosity, for exploration. For discussion.

And that’s the opposite of what I’m after.

1. Deep down it’s not entirely different from guns running out of ammo. But this is almost never seen as big of a sin than BotW.

2. Ppl most of the time focus on the exploration.
Not the dramatic moments it creates, the relief of finally getting the Master Sword, the push to be more tactical,

She explains her thoughts quite well.

The only thing I disagree with is the absolute statement of “weapon durability systems are never fun” bc it’s _such_ a bold & sweeping statement.

Hell, I’d say that it’s worth to discuss bc of several reasons:

I reckon there’s a bit of a difference between what you & me are after in these interactions & thus different outcomes are valued differently. Somewhat ironically, another subjective matter.

I don’t think Sterling’s take is wrong, in fact I reckon it’s a fair review. After all, it’s her take.

This is another good point!

It’s worse when someone says “this is a bad mechanic” without thinking _why_ said mechanic exists.

The discussion of what the mechanic is trying to achieve & why you don’t like it is interesting. “X is ass” is not nor does it encourage this discussion. It kills it & adds nothing of value.

It’s also partially because there’re so many bad faith actors online.

I want to know _why_ you don’t like it.
Is it because the game has pronouns & body types? Then I know the convo is dead & move on.
If it’s because some mechanics don’t work for you, I’m interested in why & in your thoughts.

If you go “Minecraft sucks” I get that you don’t like it & we can talk about _why_ you don’t like it.

Online there’s none of that. Blasting “x fucking sucks” to the whole internet is useless. It’s boring, it’s nonsense & adds nothing. It’s just negativity for the sake of negativity & being edgy.

Most things are subjective, doesn’t mean “x is ass” is meaningful.

Don’t know Sterling so no comment in that.

There’s a difference when talking face to face & when posting online.
F2f there’s tone, facial expressions, etc. + is easy to continue the convo. It’s also between you & me.

Perhaps they should say “I don’t like this” instead of “this is bad design/a bad mechanic”.

1st is subjective & fine, clearly an opinion. If it’s followed by _why_ they don’t like it, it would give the argument weight & foster discussion.

2nd is painting it as an objective truth when it’s not.

1. AI or not, that is how shadows work with multiple light sources.

2. The dragon is casting two different shadows. On the wall and on the ceiling.

3. The shadow isn’t the weird part. It’s the dimensions of the wing. It’s too deep and to make sense when you look at the other wing.

The pic might be AI but yes, that’s is actually how lamps work when you have more than one light source in a room.

In my native tongue Valentine’s, when literally translated, means “friend day “.

And I like that. It doesn’t _have _ to be romantic. It can just be about friends and friendship.
So why not family?

Hope you have a lovely one!

Because immigrants have made the US the powerhouse it is/was.

Their labour, music, stories, ideas & inventions and so, so many more things that immigrants, hand in hand with US born citizens, have shaped US and given it the edge it used to have (still does to some degree).

He’s being hypocritical.

Jaysus.

Well, I stand corrected.

Don’t let those fools get to you, you are a delightful sprinkle of colour, joy and dunks in a world which sorely needs all. 🙏

That’s crazy!

I’ve only seen you spread positive messages and vibes.

A few times dunking on some absolute troglodytes who live in a cave and in the 16th century but somehow with access to the internet, spreading their tourist/chud/hateful nonsense.
And the dunks are always deserved & well said.

Wait, as in pride haters or some “you are not allowed to partake in pride because you’re not gay enough” kinda folk or what?

I feel like the haters/homo-/transphobes get retired here pet quickly.

But the purity police I can see being a problem. I might’ve been lucky to not see much of them though.

I’m sure it happens but honestly, I’ve only seen people tear down some really bad takes.

The few times people get too preachy they are ratioed pretty hard.

Maybe I’ve just been lucky?

Maaaan, the Wii certainly was of its era.

Like GTA 3, Limewire, burnt mix CDs, the family computer, Nokia and iPods.

And some of those things should stay there for a good reason.

I’d like to introduce a third option: nice warm rock.
