Also, the framing that the greens didn't want houses built for battered mums is completely insane.. All they wanted was some ambition, and Labor wasn't prepared to be ambitious. That's on Labor, not Max.

Labor literally said CGT and NG were untouchable and max was getting traction on the issue, which pissed Labor off. Labor expected the greens to back a weak housing policy, they didn't and labor had a hissy fit.

yes, they did suggest it, then they ran a million miles away from it, then they attacked Chandler-Mather for suggesting they do it and now they're doing it.

The Greens Were Right and Labor Knows It Jim Chalmers is about to do what Max Chandler-Mather was shouted down for proposing. The difference is a war and a deficit that left him no choice.

It'll be dressed up as generational reform, but that's only half the story. Labor's scrapping of #CGT and #NegativeGearing is both a concession to what they slated the Greens for not long ago, and a (preemptive) depression-era cash grab. New post up now.

Pyne & Marles Christopher Pyne walked through the revolving door in nine days. Richard Marles is still building the runway.

Today's post is about the government to weapons industry career pipeline and how, in my opinion, Richard Marles may be making huge decisions based on his future job prospects and not in the interests of the country.

When Rahm Emanuel Says It, It's Already Over Rahm Emanuel just said 'no more blood for Israel.' If the most AIPAC-coded Democrat in America is repositioning, how long before Australian Labor works up the nerve?

Today's piece is about how even the most AIPAC-coded #Democrat is distancing himself from #Israel and why #Labor are still too scared to take a clear and principled position on the issue.

They're morally bankrupt.

thanks! I think she's given Labor a real cause for concern at state and federal level. In electorates that are more progressive and no strong independent (*cough* grayndler *cough* Sydney), Labor could be in serious trouble against a solid greens candidate.

Something for the weekend..here's a painting I did recently called "The Couple". Acrylic and pastel on A1 paper. An attempt to capture the moment you get stuck chatting to a couple at a party and you all realise you have nothing in common.

July 21 1935: The Führer orders a new reception hall and ballroom to "entertain foreign diplomats" at the Chancellery. Underneath the dance floor is an air raid shelter. A 2nd deeper bunker is built next to this in 1944, where he would spend his last days as the Reich collapsed.

NSW premier told to resign after protest laws struck down by top court The laws, rushed through parliament after the Bondi Beach terrorist attack, have been found to be unconstitutional by the state's highest court.

Damn straight Minns needs to resign.
No consultation, no holistic approach, legislating against lawful assembly to fight for humanity.
Get out and go fight for your pay masters.

Bad Cover Version This aint it, champ.

Wrote something about Angus Taylor's ridiculously insane strategy to get the LNP back to its glory days by aping One Nation. Truly one of the dumbest political moves I've ever seen, mostly because we've seen how this strategy played out in the UK..

A Bad Day to Be Gina On mining billionaires, retrospective taxation, and the cost of funding Pauline Hanson

Two things happened yesterday that would've really given Gina Rinehart the shits, and having a court tell her she owes $1.5b isn't even the most serious one. Check my article on the situation 👇
