It’s like - some of the worst examples of human behaviour. And I know the latest film doesn’t even touch on some of the even more grim stuff from the book, either. Proper horrible.

something that’s really been wild to me, as someone raised in the ‘freedom of religion’ usa, is how my other nation, the U.K., quite literally has a state religion and is somehow a hundred times less religious functionally than the USA
And, no, I've never read the book and won't be partaking.
Watched the new Wuthering Heights film last night and can't stop thinking about it just because of how awful the story is and the characters. I know the film isn't loyal to the book anyway and the book contains WORSE stuff but, oh my. Poor Emily Bronte's brain. Must have been horrible in there.

We've reached the time of the year where practically every one of my neighbours are doing the most noisy outside jobs known to man for the next 4 months. Working from home has many perks but HOWAYYYYYYYYYYYY this is annoying.

This is a great piece on Wonkhe. I've been keeping an eye on Taylor Lorenz's work on all things AI, as she always does a great critique and exploration of the intersections of tech and society. www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUyN...
Managed to bagsie a cheap Seatfrog first class upgrade for my journey down to #digifest26 and I'm so glad because it's standing room only in the rest of this Cross Country train. UK's worst train provider IMO. Thankfully, mine wasn't on the Cheltenham route though...

Deffo counts if there’s a book! 🤪🤣🤣
Do you still need costume ideas for World Book Day, because our friends at AUP have options!
Or, if you have enough silver glitter, you could always dress up as #DiamondOpenAccess
One of the kids in my son's class has gone in dressed up as Hulk Hogan for World Book Day and I honestly can't stop laughing. Ahhh yes, that classic literary figure! 🤣
As part of this, we want to hear from YOU. We're collecting stories about how being part of a community has helped your development. Please fill in our stories form to take part. You can submit anonymously or let us know who you are. app.onlinesurveys.jisc.ac.uk/s/jisc/commu...

Some big personal news!

The current argument of the British right is that Muslims turned out in "blocs" with "family voting" to cast their ballots for a party led by a gay Jewish man, and this shows that multiculturalism has failed, voting is "sectarian" and we are in a crisis.
Hmmmmmm.
Official Team GB Paralympic photo, with the the crests and everything, and a professional headshot, but it's for "Pickle, A Very Good Girl", who is a black labrador, with a hi-viz harness and a red collar.
Some of you like dogs, in which case you may appreciate that guide dogs of Team GB for the Paralympics get official photos
Such a good girl! 🥰🥰
