I feel like Goodwin is getting a lesson in the fact that, even in hard right politics, you can be either pleasant to work with or good at the job but you do actually need to be one of them. His cardinal error was to be a prickly, thin-skinned arsehole and then lose. No one to blame but himself.

“The true threats to our country are not being brought in by immigrants. We are looking at an economy that is faltering from external influence from certain geriatric game show hosts sitting in the White House having little incursions into the Middle East.”
Great piece from @bearlypolitics.co.uk
Absolutely nothing on the impartial BBC website.
Why are they so against reporting on the UK public’s stance against the far right?
Shameful.

fascinating to watch even the rest of the nasty right realise Goodwin is a hateful prick and turn on him isn't it
Brilliant. Wish I could have gone!

Farage wants to scrap postal voting to protect democracy. I work 12 hour shifts in Peterborough, the city he has called a rotten borough twice. Without a postal vote I do not vote. That is the point.
McDonald's has reopened in the Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv after being closed in 2022 following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The reopening had been delayed since 2023 due to Russian bombing, and a water crisis caused by Russia’s destruction of the Kakhovka Dam, which disrupted the city’s supply.
<<Britain is already moving back towards EU alignment, piece by piece. The question is no longer whether, but how far and how fast.>>
Faster please!

UK currently generating 112% of its electricity demand (with the extra 12% being transferred or stored)
Gas is generating < 12%
So UK is currently meeting 100% of its electricity needs via renewables

The media hasn't held the Tories to account for their abject failure over 14 years in office. The Tories mismanaged the economy and underfunded our public services which is never mentioned in the daily round of why didn't Starmer reverse the mess the Tories left behind the day he took office.
So it turns out the real scandal of the Gorton and Denton by-election was the willingness of media organisations to collude in Nigel Farage's attempt to undermine the result of a free and fair election

The Labour manifesto in 2024 promised an inquiry into the events at Orgreave in 1984.
Last summer, the Labour government announced the setting up of the inquiry.
This week that inquiry began.
It will look at the violence that arose between police & picketing miners at Orgreave Coking Plant.

“Australians can now live & work freely in the EU for 4 years and vice versa
That means they now have 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 EU rights than British people. Free movement offered millions of us fantastic opportunities but Brexiteers slammed that door shut, most shamefully on their own children”
On the one hand, we should always welcome unreserved & apparently sincere apologies like this. As opposed to the mealy-mouthed whinings of, say, Jim Ratcliffe. On the other, this doesn’t explain how they ended up rolling out the red carpet for a human skid mark.

It’s like Mr UN Owen in And Then There Were None.
My screenshot from today's Daily Mail website with an article by Nigel Farage entitied: "How Britain's democracy is rotting from within"
This from a man who (unlike all other *elected* party leaders) is appointed by the Reform UK Board.
Irony. ⚰️
I see that this academy is owned and run by United learning, which runs 81 schools and which boasts on its website that it is all about moral values. The CEO, 88-year-old Sir John Coles, earns £290,000 a year. I’d suggest that other schools in this group should be investigated. Thanks, Gove.
The book banning school in Manchester has now been named, the Lowry Academy. Some of the books have been returned to the shelves but not all. Glad to hear CILIP are supporting the librarian ://www.indexoncensorship.org/2026/03/greater-manchester-school-library-censorship-who-is-accountable/
This is quite terrifying!😱 And before you think it wouldn’t happen to you, these scammers are resourceful, clever & believable! We must always be on our guard because these people are ruthless & simply don’t care!😠

Hundreds of North Sea licences granted by Conservatives have ‘so far produced only 36 days worth of gas’ in 14 years. Time to challenge dangerous fallacy that new North Sea licences can cut energy bills or improve UK energy security. Push for renewables instead.

Meet Reform candidate Vicky Shaw - dressed up to make you think we give a shit about the NHS and forget that we'd like to replace it with an insurance system.
Left: Reform UK's Chairman says there was electoral fraud with family voting in the Gorton and Denton by-election
Right: Sky News report Greater Manchester Police say there is no evidence of family voting in the Gorton and Denton by-election

Two new videos have emerged showing the deadly strikes that hit an IRGC compound, as well as an adjacent girls’ school, in Minab, Iran. By geolocating and verifying the footage, Bellingcat found two waves of attacks, occurring hours apart. www.bellingcat.com/news/2026/03...
