Yeah, so I rewrote my mapmaking process shot photo text to mimic the opening lines of Romeo and Juliet because why not. It's not like Shakespeare is going to see it πŸ˜†

A portable projector on a cardboard box, projecting a line drawing of a map onto poster board taped onto a dark wooden wall. Two other pages of poster board are already drawn with map line art, with one taped on the wall and the other laying on the couch in between the projector and wall. A small paper version of the whole map is next to the projector. This project is halfway done, with three of the six sections of the smaller paper map enlarged onto poster board.

This is how we enlarged maps in the olden days

Two recent developments in the battle against my migraines:

1. Haircut removed about 2 feet of length & 2/3 of the weight.

2. New Prism prescription glasses, which are, dare I say, magical. Now I'm not hip-checking corners, crashing into doorframes, or even getting eye strain from driving 🀯

Depressed myself by watching 20+ year old fencing videos of myself. I was pretty good, once upon a time ...

Firefly nerd clothing: A brown T-shirt printed with palm trees, a T-Rex, and a Stegosaurus, who has a speech bubble that says "curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal," a line spoken by the character Wash. Next to this is an orange knitted striped "Jayne" hat, with long ties and a big pom top.

This new way of AI writing is so tiring on my eyes. Why the need to break up related concepts into:

Three sentences.

Full line break.

Sentence.

Full line break.

One word.

Full line break.

Sentence.

Do they not understand paragraphs? This bite size stuff doesn't stick to my brain.

Whyyyy, when I have literally five generations worth of accumulated inherited stuff to sell, do I get excited to go to a thrift store and potentially find something interesting? Is this why I have five generations of stuff to sell? Were all my ancestors acquisitive thrifters?

Big empty living room and hallway with wooden floor, bookcase, coats hanging in the hall, and a very small portion of a black cat peeping around the corner staring at the viewer.

I swear I'm not paranoid, but it always feels like someone is watching me.

If I'm regulating myself with social media, searching for photos and reels of black cats, crystals, tarot cards, and flowy attire, I refuse to call that doomscrolling.

It's Broomscrolling

Eye exam today, with dilation. Catching up with all of my health things I put off to take care of Mom.

The eye exam is covered by Medicaid, but the glasses are not. I can't wait to see how far prices have risen for those.

When I was a child this was our Bad Bunny. I like this new halftime guy a lot more than General Woundwort.

I haven't been on Bluesky much lately, my mom needed a lot more care at the end of her life, which happened in early January.

She was often upset by the news and felt powerless to do anything. She feared for our future. Rightfully so. She would be absolutely appalled at what is going on now.

Lit and decorated Christmas tree with a black cat laying on the tree skirt, next to a Snoopy stuffed animal in a sleigh. Many of the ornaments look silhouetted due to the white lights within the tree. The cat blends into the black background color but his mouth and one eye are open, looking mischievously at the viewer.

Soon, my body will reach the age of 55, what people call a "young" senior citizen. In a few days, my Second Life avatar will be 21.

I'm not sure which milestone is more funny. Do I do a virtual shot on the 21st and then drink a *Dirty Boomer at 55?

*milk chocolate Ensure and a shot of dark rum

The news cycle is tough for me lately. There are a lot of statements and videos that I simply cannot watch, or old trauma might consume me.

I'm in awe of the bravery of these women. Someday, maybe I will tell a story with names attached. I'm not yet ready, or may never be.

Do not worry for me, my light hasn't entirely gone out, and I still have hope. But now is not the time for silly banter.

Posting less often because even though I do have a load bearing sense of humor to get through hard times, it is being tested every day.

I'm having a hard time being funny when things are so serious. It's like I've lost my appetite for it.

Longshot time. I'm seeking a recording of The Wrestler by Eiji Nishiki.

I had the red demo cassette as a child and it was the first time I heard synthpop from Japan. The demo came with a portable (Hitachi?) cassette player.

Can anyone point me to a link or share a listen with me if you own it? 🀞

Fantastic 4 was pretty fantastic 😊

However. Sometimes superhero movies make me sad because we've got villains on this planet and no one super to save us.

A beautiful map of Middle-earth illustrated by Pauline Baynes.

Tolkien wrote to Baynes: ”Some of these pictures agree remarkably with my own vision: especially the first four on the right”

Correction... the film dates to the 1980's, not 60's
