Growing up in a conservative family, I was taught there were two roles available to me:

2. The Hero Who Saves Us From the Degradation of Change
But I choose instead:
3. Person who sees the world changing & supports the best parts of that change.

In all seriousness this is a huge issue with the subsidized right wing bullshit machine. Articles written by well-funded news “foundations” are syndicated out with no paywalls. This is subsequently rewarded in several ways.
