Don't get me wrong, I love being trans. But over the past 34 years, I've thought about it enough. I'm happy to spend less time thinking/worrying about it, and more time just being myself.

My current working theory is that because trans women are discussed daily in the media, as soon as people saw a tall woman in Scotland with a deeper voice, their brain instantly thought "tr@nny."

It's so refreshing to not have to think about my transness on a daily basis ✨️

One thing that has been mind-boggling about living in Japan is just how little I get misgendered.

In the UK, I was misgendered about once a week or so ('sir' from strangers in shops etc), and yet in Japan, it happened once. And she then corrected herself.

Just introduced my - Canadian - roommate to Mr Blobby and forgot how haunting he is if you didn't grow up in the UK.

It's so funny when people are like, "adapt or die!" re: creatives using AI because, you know, generative AI is heating and polluting so much that it's likely we will all literally die if you keep using it to make shitty art.

I'm currently watching episode 6, and I can say with relative confidence that Digimon Beatbreak is (one of) the best Digimon anime yet.

Dan's visa application has been started (today was a fun and loooong day at the immigration bureau), and I'm feeling extremely motivated to really learn Japanese.

So, my first few weeks in Japan have been a lot of fun. The job is enjoyable and fairly manageable, the apartment is well located, and Nagoya is an incredibly liveable city.

Is it touristy? Not really. Does it have lots of amazing sights? Sure... but not as much as Tokyo or Osaka.
