I’m in Bergen County NJ which has one of the worst road death rates in the US. It is definitely dangerous drivers many of them young with lots of money causing the problems. The cost of an accident on their insurance and car is not a deterrent.

This has been happening for decades. A family member did 3 tours in Iraq which included being shot down in his helicopter. His wife had to send him food so he had enough to eat.

This reminds me of how the NY Times only interviews the .1% of parents and teens who decided transitioning was not for them. They never interview parents who literally watched gender affirming care and access to hormones save their kid’s life.
