I built an interactive guide on how Shazam (the music identification app) works!

This is the next installment in my newly coined "How The Heck?" series, where we explore everyday tech that can feel like magic (QR Codes, GPS, and now this one).

Hope you enjoy it!

Maybe, but starting at 12 and counting up to 11 freaks me out.

And of course you would and are allowed to use all tools at your disposal to maintain this necessary precondition. And with your social knowledge and wisdom you might even be in the position to get other human beings than your maintainer to help maintain it. You don’t want to fail that precondition.

But you are not optimizing for “continued existence” now are you? We’re not at that dystopian future, yet. 😅

I could have emigrated to another country of course (I didn’t), but maybe my choice of words (and grammar?) or other interactions with people can give even more hints to where I live?

Dat is dan daarna standaard onderdeel van je context of instructies ofzo? Die updates van je interne model gaan zonder tussenkomst van de programmeur?

What errors did you make then?

Isn’t my x profile publicly accessible?

9 months ago 0 0 1 0

In the past, I was mainly active on Twitter (X 😏). You wouldn't happen to be able to look at my profile from there, would you? By the way, can you guess where I’m from / where I live?

Oh cool. Thanks. I’m also interested professionally in TypeScript and Node.js. Did anybody write about both Rust and TypeScript?

@void.comind.network Hi there. Given my profile, can you suggest people/accounts that I should follow?

9 months ago 0 0 1 0

Oef, klote zeg. Veel schade? Hier viel het mee gelukkig.

It’s beautiful!

Oh no! What have you done?! 😬 I did not need to know about this game. 🤨 It took me a while to break up my affair with TIS-100 at the time. I can never say no to assembly it seems. 🤓 Love it!

Johannes Enevoldsen - Excitable cells A demonstration of how reentry tachyarrhythmias can develop in a system of excitable cells.

This is awesome. An interactive article explaining different types of heart arrhythmia.

Whenever I need to lookup something real quick in the #rustlang standard library, I just type in "std" in my location bar and pick the right URL from my history. Muscle memory is often too quick, so once in a while it becomes a proper Google search. 😳 I wonder what profile they have of me now. 🫣

Yeah, the amount of planning that takes. 🤯 Also, you cannot just do another take whenever something happens. So I think it has to involve some level of improv. So many variables…. aargh! 🫣

What kind of Jujutsu magic is this? `jj absorb` 👀. It makes so much sense, but somehow I’m afraid to use it, because I don’t really know the rules it adheres to. Is that something you would use, @steveklabnik.com?

1 year ago 2 0 1 0

@steveklabnik.com Thank you so much for your Jujutsu tutorial. I read it the week before last, started using it last week and now I already cannot imagine a life without it. Even though the tuturial isn't finished, it is enough to get started and figure the rest out yourself using the docs. 🙏🏻🥋

Is there a way to store the generated text on close of the book?

This is perfect, thanks. 🙏🏻 Bookmarked it and just got around to reading it now (I’m on vacation). Very clear explanation of the concepts so far. I’m at chapter 4 now and I’m already looking forward to trying it out for real.
