I went and watched the segment on iPlayer. This is absolutely wild. It’s basically doing a free micro political broadcast for Reform during BBC Breakfast.
This is exactly what always happens when the UK tries to do things on the cheap. We have seen it time and time again on a much bigger scale: the NHS, state schools, new universities, police, military, family and criminal justice systems, legal aid, trading standards... I could go on.
Tony Blair’s influence has been continuing to shape government thinking, from enthusiasm for so-called artificial intelligence to key appointments.
The government must be transparent about who is shaping decisions and whose interests are being served.
