Yep. Shout out to Sheldon Danziger and Yu Xie, who read more drafts of my dissertation chapters than I care to remember.
My only rule is that, if I'm not the chair, I'll read once for every time your chair has already read it.

ISR researcher @jeremylevine.bsky.social studies why victim compensation laws often fail survivors.
His new project evaluates a New York policy change removing the police report requirement to see if it improves access for victims and informs reforms nationwide.
Delighted to work for and with such a completely badass group of women.
Like Professor West, quoted in this article: “I am zero surprised by any of this.”

Me, 20 minutes into moguls, something I have never seen: Those knees pressed tight together are gonna earn a big score.
Really excited to present work on tax base fragmentation at @umisr.bsky.social tomorrow! Come check it out!
Excited to share the findings from Therese Christensen's and my article! In a nutshell: living in Denmark doesn't prevent you from experiencing a motherhood earnings penalty, but it does give you access to government benefits that help offset those financial losses.
They're not on Bsky, but we can still shout out the phenomenal Nicole Bonomini and Melissa Bora!
I'm so grateful to the Stone Foundation for their continued support of @umichstonecid.bsky.social. I'm looking forward to the next 5 years!

Thanks for your causal inference readings suggestions! Next Q: what's a paper that (mostly) convinced you of causal relationships *without* an exogenous shock? My students seek examples of good work when using an IV or RD or something isn't an option. (Again, I appreciate RTs to crowd source.)
I have been a deputy editor for 2 weeks and:
(1) Wow, I have even more sympathy for the challenges editors face getting reviewers. Thank you for your service!
(2) Maybe I'm saying yes to too many reviews???

Me: I was reading this article about how the holidays can be really stressful for pets with the commotion and strangers in the house.
Introvert spouse, softly: Not... just... pets.
The McLanahan Award is given in honor of Sara McLanahan, a remarkable scholar, mentor, and policy advisor. The award goes to a senior scholar for extraordinary contributions to the study of family change, the well-being of children and families, and related social policies.
