Proposal for the next president: cut the US defense budget by 1% and double the acceptance rate of NSF proposals. Would also enormously increase productivity of scientists by reducing the months they spend writing rejected proposals.

Nice colors, Steven @sjcfishy.bsky.social
Enjoy it!
Fascinating! I’m now tempted to re-check a dataset where species are pooled. Who knows how many “X” we’ve missed? It might be true that the most critical part of any analysis is proper data exploration…
Hi @trevorabranch.bsky.social
X might belong to the same group, although it’s an outlier. If X-axis is length and Y is GSI, it could be a male at peak . It’s extreme, but not necessarily from a different distribution. More info would be needed to confirm.
Thanks @daryllmarie.bsky.social
Hi @daryllmarie.bsky.social yes! I am completely interested! Do you need something from my side?
In boreal regions, moose use water bodies to cool down and avoid insects during summer. A simple scene that reflects core principles of behavioral ecology: thermoregulation, habitat selection, and adaptive energy trade-offs.

New paper!! We reported the first record of a specimen of Taeniurops grabatus in Galician waters (north-west Spain), suggesting northern shifts of fish species due to climate changes.
