Osprey, head shot only. Bird of prey, white front of neck and stripes on head pattern framing black eyebrows almost. Tufts of feathers ruffled slightly in breeze, black sharply hooked beak. Staring directly at photographer, deciding whether or not to go for two-legged camera-carrying major meal interrupting this bird's peaceful quiet.
Little Blue Heron. Smaller sized wading bird of the heron family. This slate-blue bodied bird is seen standing on one green leg, with the other tucked away underneath the body feathers, leaving only the grasping foot of the bird to show. Body faces to the right, while the bird is looking to it's left, catching the photographer directly in it's gaze.
Female Painted Bunting, Brilliant green with pale green-yellow under. Tiny bird, perched on a seed tray feeder, left profile, head turned slightly left looking directly at camera, seeds in beak.
Limpkin at lakeside. Medium to larger bodied bird, brown with white speckles throughout, medium length neck, long orange and gray beak. Standing left side to camera, neck nearly straight up, clearly seeing the photographer. Standing in tall green grasses with a cypress tree behind, on the edge of a lake.
