Life has been getting in the way a bit recently but Paul and I managed to record a new episode last night which is less structured and planned out than usual. It was an interesting, organically developing conversation about our complicated relationships with all things Britpop...

This was fun - and a little daunting, given that I was sharing the airwaves with somewhat of an expert. An interesting exercise to go into such a deep dive practically deaf and blind to the album. Hopefully it all makes sense.
He's not said much on here yet. He's still too busy trolling Britpop Memories on X!

Yeah, we had a great time. The podcast stuff is really fun too. If you ever want to send any audio comments in, we'd be happy to include them. I normally give people a heads-up on topics in time for them to send in a clip. If you want to tell us how much you hate the Happy Daze bands, go ahead!
Hey Phil, good to hear from you! Doing good, man. Hope all's well with you.
We're on a roll over at @tracksofouryears.bsky.social. Two shows in two days (1992, 2008) & another pencilled in for Friday. Do you have any memories or views on the HAPPY DAZE compilation from 1990? Ride, Happy Mondays, Pixies, Jesus Jones? If so, send us a short audio clip & be part of it.
1992 was another outstanding year for music so Paul and I are going deep into it this week on Tracks of Our Years, with a view to getting the show out in the coming weeks. We'd love to include some of your stories so get in touch. A short audio clip would suffice!
Our extended end-of-year break is coming to a close as we prepare to launch two fantastic celebrity episodes in the coming days. We're also recording a new show on 1992 this week so if you have any musical memories to add, send in your audio! Tell us your story, tell us your songs.
An odd yet exciting year in music for me, 1998. Have a listen...
We're back with our latest edition of TRACKS OF OUR YEARS and this time Paul and Nick are delving into the depths of 1998...

The latest TRACKS OF OUR YEARS podcast sees Paul and myself discussing 1994, not just the B-word but also serial killers, Tory sex scandals, and TLC. An important year culturally in the UK and a pivotal one on a personal level.
To paraphrase Rick James, "1994...it's a helluva year.
Some of you will know, the original basis for Paul & Nick's collaboration was a shared love of Britpop. What you will also know is that these contrarians will often deliberately avoid aspects of Britpop even when discussing 1994. See exhibit A below!

I was as surprised as anyone to discover how important and transformative 1987 was in my development! From "only goth in the village" to nascent indie kid, it was an interesting year - and a fantastic one for music.
Check out the new episode of @tracksofouryears.bsky.social
Tease your hair and apply your eyeliner because TRACKS OF OUR YEARS is heading back to 1987 for a gothtastic trawl through more of Nick's @nickamies.bsky.social musical memories, guided as always by Paul.

Great fun as always and I never need an excuse to tell my Alan from Shed Seven story...
Another episode in the can... Paul and Nick talked all things 1994 earlier today, from serial killer Fred West to TLC's Waterfalls.
And no, there is no other link connecting these two things other than the year in question.
Keep your eyes and ears peeled for this one. Next up though will be 1987.
Another hugely enjoyable conversation with my brother from another mother. The latest Tracks of Our Years is now live and this week we're time travelling back to 1991.
The boys are back in town... The new episode of Tracks of Our Years is now live with Paul and Nick sharing their musical choices and personal memories from 1991.

1 November 1986. Liverpool beat Norwich 6-2. Paul Walsh scored a hat-trick, with other goals from Steve Nicol and two from Ian Rush. I was 14 and remember rolling down the standing Kop with every goal. Like a wave. Madness, magnificent madness.
Our latest episode of Tracks of Our Years sees Paul flying solo, taking us on a journey through his chosen tunes and memories from 1989.

Thanks! I will. (I kinda guessed you were!)
Exactly! But what's the preferred approach? Do I just email people directly? Is there a recommended platform which links artists and writers? In my work as a journalist I've had to deal with agents and reps for interviews, is it the same with artists?
Need advice from those in the graphic novel/comic world. I have the stories but no artist to work with. All the publishing houses I contact want the full package (writer/artist) on board before even considering the material. What's the best way to approach/find an artist to potentially work with?

Hey Bluesky community! 🌟 Excited to spread my wings in this vibrant space. 🦋
After adventures on LinkedIn and giving up on X, I’m looking forward to new conversations here. Let’s connect on making our nonprofits smarter, more engaging, innovative, and impactful by learning from each other! 🚀✨
Here you go, a starter pack of Independent Record Shops to follow (pass it on, guessing they’d appreciate that) go.bsky.app/FFCkVXG
Followed. Thanks Tim.
This is the podcast that I'm proud to be the sometime co-host of. It's essentially about music, but so much more. Because music is more than just the music, isn't it?
Feel free to dive in and swim around.
New episodes every - or at least, most - weeks.
