If you're looking to decamp from substack, ghost.io has been making strides in its discoverability features and has the added benefit of not making you throw up in your own mouth when you have to plug your blog
a screenshot of the "New Bestsellers" list from Substack, with Andrew Tate in the #1 position
Hey, look at Substack promoting Andrew Tate as the #1 new bestseller. The company's amoral leadership & backers will platform anyone, even ludicrously toxic rapists & human traffickers.
Have you been watching Reggie Dinkins? There's a perfect Skyrizi joke in one of the early episodes
And one video
New Haven River Kayak races today. Was very happy to be watching from shore
I wrote something of an ode to relationships & why they matter in the NIL era + new blueprints for players bringing THEIR vision to institutions for @fansided.bsky.social:
I wrote and spoke about KD, how his teams never seem to get better, the complications of understanding his impact, and the Rockets' palace intrigue and uncertain future.

Mushing is of course a classic french technique
She made the recipe this weekend and tried to pass it off as a "mocktail" to get my wife and I to try it. We politely declined.
I don't know about the taste but the recipe certainly captures the look of fake throw up
My 10-year old is workshopping recipes for her first cookbook ...
the san francisco gay basketball association has survived through hostility, battles with the city over space to play, loss of community members, a pandemic, and is about to turn 40
in a two-part feature, ben peterson wrote about the oldest gay basketball league in the world for BASKETBALL FEELINGS

Hey @welch.senate.gov, remember when Mullin challenged a witness to a fistfight in a senate hearing? Or just a few weeks ago when he was yelling at your colleague Bernie Sanders in another hearing? He is not competent or respectable. This Vermonter will be furious if you vote to confirm
Working on a new column —
"DTREF St Louis: Ranking sports referee uniforms, from most- to least-flattering"
This might be too much of a two-hander to count as a true monologue, but it's the first thing that popped in my head youtu.be/WzY2pWrXB_0?...
Every month the United States provides even more reason to boycott its products and companies — the strikes on Iran being just the latest.
In light of that, it’s a great time to ditch the products and services of US tech companies. I made a comprehensive guide to help you.
For reference, the population of the Burlington metro area is about 225k. So this is about one ticket request for every 23 people. For a USL-2, semipro team. The Green have built something incredible, and in like four years
Mythical. Like a unicorn. Or a luck dragon.
Absolutely wild. WSJ reporting that some OpenAI staffers thought the Tumbler Ridge shooter's use of ChatGPT raised the potential of real world violence but leadership decided not to alert RCMP. www.wsj.com/us-news/law/...
ChatGPT thinks the Charlotte Hornets are going to win it all this year. Sort of. Also, the model has no idea what Kon Knueppel looks like (beyond — generic white kid) or what jersey number he wears.
all the doubters who thought substack couldn’t find a business model must be feeling PRETTY SILLY now that they’ve partnered with THE upscale predatory gambling application 😏
The plagiarism may have been sloppy but the content was certainly malevolent.
(I graduated from the University of Idaho. Loved my two in Moscow, ID but his church made for a weird and palpable divide in the otherwise loving and welcoming community).

He wrote a pamphlet about how slavery was benign and beneficial to both slave owners and the enslaved. Gross stuff .. and also it turned out he plagiarized much of it.
I have a vague sense that "spontaneous uterus ejection" was -- at one point another -- the default reason women were banned from each and every sport.
Here we are in 2026, and we still haven't found even one sport that makes the uterus fall out.

Hamish McKenzie Disiointed • Subscribe 1h Edited Hi everyone. Chris, Jairaj, and I wanted to let you know that we've heard and have been listening to all the views being expressed about how Substack should think about the presence of fringe voices on the platform (and particularly, in this case, Nazi views). liust want to make it clear that we don't like Nazis either-we wish no-one held those views. But some people do hold those and other extreme views. Given that, we don't think that censorship (including through demonetizing publications) makes the problem go away- in fact, it makes it worse.
NEW: Substack founders finally respond to Substackers Against Nazis. They say Nazis publishing and earning money on their platform is fine with them.
