Notice the incoherence of "we can't let chinese EVs in because everyone will buy them" & "we can't make EVs ourselves because no one wants to buy them"
If American auto makers are going to drop out of the EV market, then Chinese EVs aren't a threat
They're just asking us to subsidize inferior tech

Great, now I will have "oh my god, oh my god you guys!" stuck in my head all day. What a cutie!!!!
Dude, this isn't some conspiracy against you. The poll oversampled younger voters (read the fine print), which is why they were able to break out younger voters into smaller age cohorts. That's just a choice pollsters make sometimes when they want more textured info about a specific subgroup.
I mean, Xennials probably vote like the midpoint of elder millennial and peak Gen X. That's how continuous variables usually work. Whenever I've seen age graphed out year by year I've never seen big disjunctions.
Not really seeing what that has to do with this chart...
I mean, sure, it would be nice to see that breakout. But you'll almost certainly still be disappointed by the numbers for your half of the window. Look at how the boomer numbers are BETTER for Democrats than among the Gen X cohort. My guess is that both halves have pretty similar ratios.
We went to yesterday's game! Glad we all got to see the Mariners win. :D
Moral of the story is don’t post after 9 pm or before 6 am

Hilariously, the Vatican DOES have extremely high per-capita crime rates. It's one of my favorite examples of needing to pay close attention to quirks with your numerators and denominators. (In this case, thousands of pickpocketed tourists and 900 clergy members, respectively.)
Okay but for real, what are the betting market odds re: antipope right now?
so.... sexting with Jesus? Presumably?
Some of it should be turned into housing, I think. With plenty left over for park land.
Quite literally the only reason to tell people this is to convince them to commit crimes
A survey of women who froze their eggs found that 85% of them cited "no partner yet" as their reason. Their willingness to endure the financial and physical pain of egg retrieval strikes me as a pretty big indicator they want kids, but one big barrier stops them. I dunno. Seems germane! 8/8
So women will continue to "choose" not to have kids because they're not finding adequate partners. Or they'll find a partner, but late enough in life that they end up having one kid instead of two or three (roughly, this was my situation). This should all be part of the birth rate discussion! 7/
I feel like all it would take is asking any heterosexual woman why the financial incentives aren't making a big impact, and she will tell you that those incentives mean jack shit if you are single and not really into the idea of having kids without a partner. Which describes a LOT of young women. 6/
I do roll my eyes, however, when progressive dude commentators on this subject don't mention the partnering problem. They just seem baffled about why paid leave or other financial incentives don't work. Or, as you did, they're content to shrug and say "we don't know why it doesn't work." 5/
But obviously rightwing pro-natalists aren't encouraging young men to stop being unmarriageable ghouls and start being the kind of egalitarian partners that women want to marry and have kids with. Because, as you pointed out, those people coming from a misogynist, white-supremacist point of view. 4/
But finding a partner is hard, esp. with giant gaps between young men and women on things like politics, education, attitudes about equality, even financial responsibility. Between the manosphere and crypto/betting sites, a lot of young men are making themselves unmarriageable to young women. 3/
The commentary treats the decision to have a kid as a decision based on tipping-point factors like finances. That could maybe be true for people who are already partnered. But what about all the people are unpartnered but would like to have kids with a partner? They can't just conjure one up. 2/
I appreciated this episode. But it still inspired me to have the same reaction that I have to nearly every piece of commentary (from the right or the left) about this subject. Which is to hop up and down screaming "ffs, how can you not even mention the partnering problem???" 1/

I like this because it articulates the conservative concept of freedom in a nutshell. You have the freedom to do x, except you don't, because I don't want you to. bsky.app/profile/atru...
Correct. The line is very annoying to navigate around when walking around the Pike Place area. I used to live near there and the only time it didn't have a line was during the early pandemic.
I’ve researched the entire history that led to the 25th Amendment and what followed and wrote about all of it nearly a decade ago.
Since then — and, in part, due to its limits and complications — I’ve only called for Section 4 to be invoked on two dates: January 6, 2021, and today.

Y'all, they threw Pam Bondi's official DOJ portrait in the trash, then LEAKED a photo to the media. There is literally no upside to being a MAGA bootlicker.
