I’m now a month post endometriosis surgery and it’s absolutely crazy how much better my pain has gotten since they were able to cut out lesions and suspicious regions! 💛✨

I did also recently use my FSA dollars to upgrade to the byACRE rollator for when I need to manage chronic nerve pain episodes 🤩

It's amazing what institutes in the @pasteur.fr network are able to accomplish when they're not being bombed by the US and Israeli militaries 👀

Critical for anyone who uses GitHub - if you've used GitHub Copilot at all, Microsoft is about to start putting basically all of your code and the entire trajectory of all actions you took into training. You need to opt out by April 24th. github.blog/news-insight...

I think San Diego has gotten better since moving here in 2013, but I remember visiting family in National City/Chula Vista in the 2000s and it wasn’t so great then 😅

I’ve had the month off for FMLA leave to recuperate physically and mentally after my surgery … and playing lots of #Pokopia 🥹✨

I’ll be returning to lab and whatnot in early April, and I’m excited to slowly get back to bioinformatics and research! 💪🏽💪🏽

I just tried to register.

The March date is already listed as Full!

I did register for the April date. You have a chance to enter questions. I don't know if there will be another opportunity to do this.

Also, happy endometriosis awareness month 🌻💛

People in my life have asked why I’m open about my health 🏥 and a BIG reason is to bring enough awareness to conditions to encourage ACTION ✊🏽

📣 There’ll also be events in New York City this week hosted by www.endofound.org if people are interested 💪🏽

My endometriosis excision laparoscopy is tomorrow! Hopefully everything goes well!🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

We’ll be using the Da Vinci Surgical Robot—it kind of feels like a full circle moment? 😅 I first saw one as a first year bioengineering undergrad in the @ucsdmedschool.bsky.social MET basement for some event 🤖

I’ve been back in the States 🇺🇸 for a few days now and … oh dear, I miss public transportation 🚞 😭

Also, traveling with chronic nerve pain and inflammation in the cold is difficult BUT semi-possible with MANY heat warmers, ample rest, and strong medicine 🥲

My endometriosis surgery is in two weeks!

I recently wanted a fantasy sort of book to relive my Artemis Fowl and Percy Jackson days … so I picked up The Will of the Many by James Islington on Libby and was pleasantly surprised!

Also finally read Careless People by Sarah Wynn-Williams 👍🏽

For a good chunk of my early days on the internet, I was on random forums talking about niche things like forecasting turnip prices (in bells, of course) and predicting Pokérus 😤

A photo outside the window of the Grand Blissen Hotel in Jozankei, a region in the Sapporo area of Japan. There is a large mountain in the view of the window that is covered with the deep brown, stripped trunks of trees during the wintertime. Some of the trees have caught the snow, and some still have bushy, dark emerald-colored leaves. In the middle ground is a grey apartment building with approximately 10 floors in view that has a flat roof entirely covered in snow. Several buildings sit beside it, all also covered in snow. The photographer has her legs crossed and resting on a burnt orange ottoman, and she’s wearing blue, starchy linen hotel-issue bottoms, along with grey tabi socks.

After navigating delayed flights and cancellations due to snowy weather, my husband and I finally made it to Sapporo for our honeymoon! ❄️🗻

We haven’t travelled with just the two of us for a while, so it’s nice to be able to spend time relaxing with your person 😭✨❤️

I was also so flustered by doing things on the fly with a lot of improv that I ended class an hour early 🫠

I lectured today for a Practical Bioinformatics course and the JupyterHub for the class wasn’t working for people 😭

So instead of just my “Intro to pandas, matplotlib, and seaborn” interactive session, I also did an ad-hoc lesson on how to install packages and create environments with conda 🥲

Thanks!! ❤️

It’s a little scary but also super cool 😭 I’ve watched a few surgery videos for this procedure to see how it works and whatnot … and it’s amazing what modern medicine has to offer!! 🙌🏽 🏥

Finished my appointment! It went well and my provider was able to address a lot of the concerns I had 🥹❤️

I have to do another diagnostic ultrasound to determine how the laparoscopy will be performed—like if they need to use the surgical robot—but after that, I’ll (hopefully) have closure! 😭✨
