A generation locked out of real housing, now told to rent sheds in back gardens.

This is not a solution. It is a distraction from the failure to build affordable homes.

We need proper housing, not unregulated, unsafe alternatives with no tenant protections.

Data centres uses 32% of Ireland's total electricity supply but pay almost less than half of the residential rate. So we're effectively subsidizing tech giants during a cost of living & energy crisis. Meanwhile this Govt continues to cheerlead their expansion & continue to fail in their obligations.

The misogynistic far-right bigot Duffy claims he's the victim of a smear campaign for something he DID SAY and still stands by 🙄

Infinitely more worrying is the number of Irish people (and others) who genuinely are concerned about climate change and Palestine who still support the bastard!!!

A little teddy bear in memory of Teddy Farry

You may know we had a family bereavement in late 2025 and while I’m not able to talk about it, my sister, the bravest person in the world, has written a small note and is running the Mini Marathon in memory of our Teddy.

Pls read and maybe share or donate: www.gofundme.com/f/teddy-farr...

Do you know what would be really great to see? All those tractors driving down to Doonbeg and occupying the golf course of the man who got everyone into this mess...

The Irish government (of which Micheál Martin was a member) was told years ago how Finland solved homelessness through implementing Housing First.
Ireland chose not to do the same, and now has more than 17,000 people in emergency accommodation, with tens of thousands more "hidden homeless".

Israel’s introduction of death penalty for Palestinians a grave violation of international law - Social Democrats Israel’s introduction of the death penalty for Palestinians is a brazen violation of the Geneva Convention, according to Social Democrats foreign affairs spokesperson Patricia Stephenson. Senator Step...

Israel claims to be a modern, progressive country, and though this has long been exposed as fallacy, its decision to employ the death penalty for Palestinians reasserts the barbaric nature of its regime.

This is another tool to subjugate the Palestinian people.

Daniel McConnell: This line of insinuation doesn’t stand up Business Post editor Daniel McConnell has defended his decision not to tell readers a contributor in the paper calling for Ireland to develop its “defence sector” works for a British arms consultancy.

This story does not just reveal the lack of transparency in our national media, it challenges the familiar line from prominent commentators that we need a 'serious' debate about defence and security. 1/3

The "they" in this question is not just the politicians in power - it's those of you who voted to put them there.
Every single one of you own this, and yet again you'll do or say nothing for fear that it might cost you in some way.
The biggest party in Ireland is, and always has been, Mé Féin.

'This was meant to be our permanent home': Retirees in west Sligo community face eviction Six households in the coastal town of Enniscrone in west Sligo – whose residents are aged ranging from their 50s to 80s – must move out by 5 June next year.

This is just getting fucking ridiculous. A fucking retirement village being evicted. All thanks to Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil policy.

The change in legislation rushed in by FGFF means these poor fuckers have no recourse. OAPs out on the street.

Remember we were told that lifting the evictions ban would payoff in the medium to long term? Is this it paying off?

I think that was a real line in the sand moment. A line that runs from "evictions are ok in a housing crisis" straight to "a retirement village is being evicted"
