It was a pleasure to put on some charcuterie and treats and host some great friends out at Kimballwood Down this past weekend.

More than happy to have subscribed to the new venture by Jennifer Rubin and others, The Contrarian. I retain my subscription to the Washington Post for now, but the oligarch-run US media is failing us all by kowtowing to the Trumpists. Truly independent voices like Rubin et al are essential.

My wife handles most of the holiday decorating, but I add a few touches, including bowls of Robertson’s candy, which reminds me of my childhood (and her parents always seemed to have some as well).

Tonight, the Working Class Gourmand tackles cheese-filled gnocchi with marinara sauce, Parmesan cheese, and pepper. Very tasty… although I made the marinara just a bit too thin for my perfect liking.

Gordon Ramsay would chastise me for the messy plate, but I like to think of it as my “Jackson Pollock 3-Cheese Ravioli”.

As always, my wife does excellent work!

One can never have too many coffee cups, so I picked this cute Christmas cat one up for my wife yesterday.

For the first time in two months, one of our beloved little friends (Susan today) popped out this afternoon to stare into the void (and graze on the lawn).

Linda and I were worried they were… well, “no longer with us”. Looks like we were wrong.

As an expert on wrestling PPV pizzas, I can attest that is one good looking pie.

Out shopping with my wife at Sunnyside Mall this afternoon, which meant a stop in Dockyard for more felt Christmas mice!!

These two new friends also represent a reasonable approximation of what my wife and I looked like today while walking around the mall.

Kudos to the staff at the Starbucks in Halifax Shopping Centre for indulging me when they asked for my name on tonight’s order.

I popped into Dockyard by Thornbloom in Vedford on Friday and got some Christmas decorations… including two new felt Christmas mice to add to our collection (my wife is obsessed with them, and I have sort of become obsessed as well).

Just be prepared. We've all seen that headline going around today that Bluesky is the current #1 app, and X dropped out of the top 25.

That means the absolute worst people in the world are going to be coming here trying to turn THIS place into just as much of a shithole. Block them. Don't engage.

Leaving aside the fights (which were very good, except for the dire main event), the #TysonPaul event was an embarrassment for #Netflix, with widespread streaming issues, and a well below par production. Not ready for prime time sports.
