Years ago in med school, the infectious pathology and antimicrobial pharmacology modules were taught by an engaging Irish ID who periodically whacked the pull-down screen with a shillelagh. Roughly translated, it meant that particular concept was test fodder.

My preference is high, especially for finger picking. Lots of versatility. Also fun to tune to open G or D.

They were comprised of popular 70s pickled things likely gherkins, dill slices, pearl onions, olives, etc, with some cream cheese celery thrown in. Mostly consumed at the kids’ table with the deviled eggs. Deep South. Seems generational more than regional? 🤷‍♀️

28 yrs ago as I was trying to figure out how to make a 2nd career in medicine happen, I found this. Rereading it now from the other side. Big thanks to @drlindseyfitz.bsky.social and @oliviacampbell.bsky.social for reigniting a med history interest. 🔥 London and Edinburgh are on the bucket list.

Ours were anonymized as well, however at the end of the year I learned he was a WW2 vet, survived a ship sinking in the Pacific, married, had a family and lived a full life until late-onset testicular cancer metastasized and ended his life. I am forever grateful.

...to make someone in the UK govt. listen, and help get my stranded wife back from the USA, and back under the ongoing medical care she needs.

Reposts hugely appreciated too. Thank you. x

Done, sent to both addresses. From the US.

Apologies if my point wasn’t clear. Even with diligent screening some early cancers evade detection, or are so aggressive they develop and metastasize in the interval between screenings.

Way too early to speculate prognosis.

Medical (yes medical) doctor here. My father, who marinated in Agent Orange when he was in Vietnam, had a normal PSA in March 2019. Aggressive prostate cancer killed him by the end of the year. It happens.

It’s been a long day. I didn’t realize how much I needed to see Jen Psaki trying not to say WTAF on air.

Don’t know about the sycophant on the left, but Jr and Oz have profited from misinformation for years. There’s no oversight anymore to stop them. So yeah, plenty of willful ignorance in this disastrous roux, but there’s also gracious helpings of deception and greed.

Military brat, moved yearly, usually during the school year. First day of 5th grade at a new school, for being left handed and smearing my work (iykyk), and for doing short division instead of long. Good start.

Earlier this week driving up the Blue Ridge escarpment on I-26, I passed a cybertruck, clearly loosing power and smelling like an electrical fire.

Choose your metaphor and let us pray.

What do we do when politicians make our work harder?

We work together. We do important, hard work in our daily lives. For me, this means caring for each patient & family in front of me, putting one foot in front of the other, and fighting for science & what’s good and right in this world.

This☝️!! Some of our best and brightest are couch surfing, sleeping in a car/library/call room, hoping for a noon conference or attending invitation. You may never know how your small act of kindness could change things for them.

Done! Thanks so much for this. It’s an unfortunate but necessary step for those of us providing gender-affirming care in red states. This made it so much easier. Will pass this along to my colleagues and students. 🙏

One of my favorite medical histories! Dr Gillies and his team were true heroes on so many levels. Thank you for bringing their incredible story to light.

If your practice includes prenatal, peds, or other vulnerable populations, PLEASE contact your US senators and urge them to oppose RFKjr for HHS Sec. It only takes a minute and confirmation hearings are coming up. Let’s do this for the kiddos.

To be fair, I’ve been a Bob Dylan fan for as long as I can remember and I’m always up for a good biopic, but A Complete Unknown is just astonishing. Go see it.
