I wrote for @newinquiry.bsky.social about the psycho-political agons of 90s sitcom neighbors like Kimmy Gibbler, Steve Urkel, and co.—why they showed up, why they were thrown out, and why they kept coming back. Give it a read!

Read @elpgerson.bsky.social in @newinquiry.bsky.social, on six years of Morena party rule under AMLO.
First post on BlueSky and it's a plug.
Wrote for @newinquiry.bsky.social about AMLO. I try to explain what Obradorismo actually is while critiquing his programmatic agenda, the opposition, and understanding AMLO's political success.

Excellent state theory: "for those who have convinced themselves ... that any discrepancy between appearance and action is a glitch rather than a symptom, reckoning with such discrepancies ... requires a recalibration of national shame, first, and state efficiency, second"
"State functionality—the ability to run systems smoothly, but also to convince the public that the agents of such systems carry benevolent intent—has always concealed regimes of harm, and always to disastrous ends." thenewinquiry.com/spell-check-...

🚨 A field source for Al-Mayadeen:

Missile strikes target the American base at the "Conoco" oil field in northeastern Deir Ezzor, eastern Syria.
The popular resistance shelled the American base with 15 missiles that hit their targets, leading to violent explosions at the base in eastern Syria.
RSF and affiliated Sudanese-Arab militias have reportedly killed 800 in an ethnic cleansing campaign in Ardamata camp in West Darfur, home to tens of thousands who had already been displaced by the civil war.
"Many voters said they trusted Donald Trump over President Biden on the economy, foreign policy and immigration, as Mr. Biden’s multiracial base frays."

‘Operation Al-Aqsa Flood’ Day 30: Hundreds of thousands protested in the Washington D.C. and around the world, calling for a ceasefire. Israel continues to target civilian infrastructure, using the "equivalent of two nuclear bombs," says rights group.
Before October 7th, over 60% of Palestinians were moderately or severely food insecure.
It has ALWAYS been a deliberate tactic by the apartheid regime to keep Palestinians on the brink of starvation.

BREAKING: @mekomit expose shows that the directive to deport 2.4 million #Palestinians out of occupied #Gaza and onto #Egypt and beyond has been officially endorsed by #Israel's Ministry of Intelligence on 13 October. A war crime in the making!
Israel's Ministry of Intelligence deportation directive outlines the four stages: 1.A call on Palestinian civilians to vacate north Gaza; 2.Sequential land operations from north to south; 3.Leaving routes open across Rafah; 4.Establishing "tent cities" in Sinai to resettle Palestinians in Egypt.
The last time American media said anything about Palestinian communities being ethnically cleansed from the West Bank, “only” two villages were displaced.
Now we are at at least 13.

Tweet from Hurt CoPain: I need everyone to read this headline New Report: 91% of Gaza children suffer from PTSD after the Israeli attack Geneva - Nine out of ten children in the Gaza Strip suffer some form of conflict-related trauma after the Israeli military attack ended over a month ago,
It’s been said before but there is no “post-” for traumatized Palestinian children in Gaza. They are always in danger and so they can never establish the real foundation of safety recognized as the prerequisite for trauma recovery. “Israel” has trapped them in a kind of hell.
Communications are still spotty at best, but from Al Jazeera:
Almost 400 Palestinians were murdered in the “safe zone” yesterday as Gaza was turned in a “ball of fire”
It took journalist Fares Akram 12 hours to find out 18 of his extended family was murdered.
