My personal favorite part of Starling is the review grid. You choose where a track falls on an energy/mood axis, and then pick tags that you want to assign it! The tags are organized by quadrant, but you can pick whatever you'd like

I'm working on a desktop music player called Starling, designed to help you get to know your music library. You complete track reviews to tag energy, mood, and descriptions. Slowly working through my own library as I build this, and it's been a great chance to listen more intentionally!
It’s kind of amazing how much of game dev (for me) is planning and design. That’s probably partially my traditional software dev background, but I almost never add a feature without writing up a proposal first, even if it’s just for me. Writing a good spec upfront makes coding so much faster!
Anyone have advice for finding beta testers? I'm looking for people to test a music library app
I'm never not working on 3-5 projects at once, but I do have to say, this is the first time I've had multiple projects come together so close in time!
Lately I’ve been working on a desktop music player focused on building a curated personal library. It’s a more intentional alternative to the endless noise of streaming services. A beta is coming soon!
Updated the website for @wildethorn.bsky.social today, and I have to say, I think it looks pretty good!
Looking to play more party games with your online friends? Check out our Kickstarter for a collection of silly, improv-style minigames, coming soon!

I fervently believe that the fact that children and elders lead lives of isolation in cities and towns (absent daily efforts of their caregivers to ferry them around) should make plain what a terrible job we've done with building cities over the last 70 years.
I'm excited to announce our upcoming game, Off the Cuff. Kickstarter launching soon!
What an absolute beauty, I love the pitbull smile <3
I've got my weekly (online) game night with friends tonight, and I genuinely can't wait until we're ready to do more play testing of my game Off the Cuff (@wildethorn.bsky.social). These game nights are literally what sparked the idea in the first place!
I interviewed Toby Fox again. :) You can read the conversation in both and digital and print (!!!!!) editions of Game Informer. We talked about the “stupid” way to make games and his new journey with Deltarune. Read to see our convo and some awesome fan art.

Perks of being a game dev, buy every game on sale “for market research.”

This one is my creation! If anyone would like to one-up me, absolutely share your own. (Hand-drawn, MS paint, whatever you'd like!)
Working on a new game that I think you all will like. It's a bit of a departure from what we've done in the past -- Stay tuned!
Hey all my LGBTQIA+ gamedev friends out there!
The Queer Games Bundle submissions are open for 2025
This is a fantastic opportunity to get your games/books/art seen and it helps queer devs through direct financial support
Share it loud, and get those games (or other itchio items) in the bundle! 🏳️🌈
I think our rush to “this meeting could have been an email” culture has maybe created an inverse:
“This heated, multi-day slack thread could have been a collaborative 30 min meeting”.
could somebody please start cultivating some new types of fruits and vegetables? feel like it'd be a huge shot in the arm for everybody. the hass avocado is unbelievable and it was invented by a mailman so i say give it a shot. i'd do it but i don't have a yard
This is what I meant, not invalidating the incredible dangers we face, to not forget they are fucking inept, infighting clowns
This is a good script for those of us in Republican-controlled states, remember that, even if you would never vote for your representative, they don’t know that.
We're celebrating the music of indie games this week!!
Check out this collab between our very own @katerblossom.bsky.social and @underplayedpod.bsky.social ‘s DiscoCola!

This is the Kickstarter video I'm going to aspire to
Two long-haired orange and white cats, cuddling head to head on a couch.
Found out today that both my cats have ear infections in opposite ears. They spread it to each other by cuddling too much...
Today on #NatureIsAConceptArtist something a little closer to home, Fingal's Cave (Scotland).
It's a sea cave formed entirely from hexagonal basalt columns, similar in structure to the Giants Causeway in Northern Ireland.

game narrative people like to talk about how worldbuilding isn’t storytelling. i agree; in fact i think worldbuilding is actually its own emerging creative practice, with its own virtuosos & masterpieces; it overlaps with storytelling but often feels to me more like architecture, hypertext, collage
this is going to be so good! @alexriesart.bsky.social does wonderful worldbuilding + art. it's exactly the sort of fantasy work which most excites me.
Finally got around to making a Bluesky after ditching Twitter eons ago! (My handle was bmillerdev on there)
