Yep it was. Is.

The great Gerry Rafferty would've been 78 today. What a talent. www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXW-...
Wondered what had happened to the Geoffrey Barling at Newmarket. And I see it became the Rossdales in 2006. Is he still mentioned in the official race title? I've still been calling it the GB for years. Firstly how did I miss this? π Also, down with this sort of thing.
Clem Burke. One of the best to ever do it. And one of the coolest too. God rest him. t.co/cnoroAjJEC
Clear round in the jump-off for Heather Honey at Newcastle. One for the teenagers.

If horses could talk. Lossiemouth showing why she should be running in the 4 O'Clock.
Laughing at Jamie Lynch on ATR bigging up a terrible card at Sedgefield. If I was him I would've phoned in sick today.
The Lucky One.
There are endless reasons for Everton to move to a new ground, but those aerial shots of Goodison Park at night still stir a sense of loss.
First went there as a 12-year old on a coach from North Wales when you could pick a weekend game to go to and hand over the coins.
Tony Roberts. He was great in all those Woody Allen pictures. And many other things. God rest him.
Unfortunately I'm getting some of Tyrrhenian Sea's.
Ah Denis Law. One of the greats. Great player and great fella. Always had a twinkle in his eye. Everyone loved Denis. God rest him.
The great Tony Book has sadly passed. The term 'club legend' is often misused these days but Tony really was Mr Man City in a golden age as player, 'skip', manager and ambassador. With Tony's passing a little bit of the soul of the club has gone with him. God rest him.
More sad news with the passing of Tony Slattery. He really was great craic on one of my favourite shows, Whose Line Is It Anyway. God rest him.
Argentum running there at Chelmsford. Memories of his top sprinter namesake who won a Cornwallis and King George for Jack Holt.
Jim Courier sitting next to Steve Waugh at the SCG. Would be interested to hear the chat there.
And here's Knock Hill putting things right with his third win the following year with Memberson flashing home late again. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjXh...
I wheel this out every year but I loved the 4 miler. Two great old favs here. Memberson coming late from another county to deny Knock Hill his third win in the race. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNqY...
Our rock/pop stars just sang in those days. I never went to a gig to see anyone dance. The ones that start boppin' around generally can't sing.
Who says he's more in the tank than her? He's turning 8, she's turning 6. He's not improving. She also could've been below par like some of WPM's. State Man couldn't beat Winter Fog today so was well below. CH is odds on. Lossiemouth is 6s. WPM unusually for him is very bullish she can reverse it.
If horses always ran to ratings there would be no bookies. CH was nowhere near 175 judging on proximity of Burdett Road. I thought he was emptying close home. May improve but not much, as I'd say he was ready. He's a terrible price as it's on old form. I'd back Lossiemouth now if I knew she'd run.
Lossiemouth outclassed? Kempton too sharp and she stayed on well late. Townend said she gave him no feel and it's possible she could've been below par like a fair few of Willie's have been (State Man included). Willie said he's keen for her to take on the winner again and I'd agree with him.
40 years ago. Righthand Man wins the Welsh National in the colours of Muriel Haggas, William's grandmother. He went on to be 2nd in the Gold Cup. www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BoY...
40 years ago. The great Burrough Hill Lad breaking my heart with Combs Ditch. www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNq4...
Nollaig Shona daoibh go lΓ©ir. Happy Christmas friends. Joy to the world. PEACE ON EARTH.
The Brigadier of course. Graham Thorner's 'Betting People' interview with Simon Nott is worth a catch up if you get a chance. A few 'snowflake' mentions. Great craic.
Reminder. 4 hours of live coverage from the London Horse Show including the jockeys challenge on BBC Red Button at 6.35pm. x.com/IJF_official...
