Classic jazz format meets classic rock, Alex Skolnick Trio with ‘Goodby to Romance, Standards for a New Generation’ (2002, DL). Love this, the sound of the familiar given some special treatment that makes it shine all the more. Nice 😎

It’s a sure fire formula, informative, funny and a whiff of adventure
Excellent 2020 studio album from Ghost Rhythms, ‘Imaginary Mountains’. The track ‘Tumuc Humac’ is the absolute biz. Love this album, some superb passages, and an interesting conceptual idea behind it again. 😍✅
Got into this quite easily having thought I wouldn’t, you are right, it just works well

Entertaining read, and certainly knew nothing about the YouTube channel (this only became apparent as the book wound on). Very funny and easy to appreciate as it’s a sort of ‘everyman’ escapade, easily relatable in many respects. Worth picking up 😎
👌
From Edition Records:
“Norwegian innovator, trumpeter and producer Nils Petter Molvær presents Be Quiet – a duo collaborative album built across nine tracks with nine distinct artists including Imogen Heap and John Paul Jones, recorded in cities spanning Bangkok, Rome, Berlin and London” Oooh! 10/7
Super film!

Everything about this just screams pure fucking perfection
I wish I could go into my work, walk around for 10 mins, make small talk, wave, and go home
To be honest I think they are done too. They had a good run with some decent tunes in that post-Grunge space, time to give it up

About time I won something Bas
Investment in both time and resource. I know what you mean, even Cdr and sometimes downloads - just need the actual disc
Radiohead. Born 1991
I liked the start of the band, and first albums up to Wasting Light. Don't know about much else tbh
Lunch-time listen I could fully engage with the lovely vocals of Dominique Fils Aimé and 'My World is the Sun' (2026, Tidal, Bandcamp).
This is a pleasant enough album, but really doesn't do enough to get my attention properly. Envy of None, 'Stygian Waves' (2025, Tidal)
So, played about 3.5 tracks today, and frankly bored to death. Not been a decent album for some time imo. Peaked around 'Wasting Light' for me
same here Simon, very eagerly indeed
Certainly something in that
