Early part of a Turtleback Mountain trail on Orcas island. A gravel road leads up a foggy PNW forest.
Turtleback preserve. A weaving footpath through a moss covered pine forest.
A view up turtleback mountain, showing off all the thick moss covering the entire forest floor.
View from the peak, with a small figure in the center. The view is overlooking the islands in the salish sea.
A walk through mossy woods.

They made a one-shot anime of Monsters with Ryuma and it kicks ass actually. Its like a single-episode arc in terms of vibes. Highly recommend.

Watercolor sketch of a purple deadnettle.
Day 1 of #PleinAirpril and it was raining al day, so just a small indoor plant study.
This weed grows all over our backyard. Never noticed how intricately beautiful their flowers are.

Going to do PleinAirpril this year.
I don’t expect to finish 30 paintings, what with the full time job and all, but the attempt will be good practice! I gotta limber up and shake all the winter rust off before nature allows me to hike painting supplies into the mountains again.

Oh these are cool!
Yeah i was a bit locked-in on watercolor-paper options which lead me down the DIY route quickly because i guess that aint a thing. Tragic!

Sketchbook spread with the palette, pencil, and waterpen. Ive never once had this water pen leak, and it lives with my wallet full time. I should also mention the paint here is not watercolor but dried gouache, but only the nerds care about that.
Art toolkit has the thinnest and smallest paint palette you can find ($30). The pans are magnetic, swappable and hold a lot for their size. I will shill for arttoolkit every chance i get. Love their stuff.
For a brush i just use water pens. Not the best tool, but worth it for the convenience.

A page of my sketchbook. Note the grey and black paper. The clip that holds it closed doubles as a palette clip!
The folder cover, holding origami paper and folded animals. When im waiting at cafes or restaurants, instead of browsing my phone i like to fold little animals and leave them behind :}
While they sell passport-sized sketchbooks, they don’t at 300gsm. So i made my own!
The sketchbook is a hand stitched signature with a variety of toned paper. The cover is a travelers notebook kraft file, so i can swap inserts in and out. (Bonus: it also holds origami paper)

Plastic insert holding cards and stickers. Look up “travelers notebooks passport size” and there are tons of accessories and inserts!
Same insert, but turned like a page in a book to show the back. On the right is the cover of my sketchbook folder~
Inside of the wallet showing a notepad on the left, and another card-holding insert with bills and cards on the right.
Back of the wallet holds my miniature watercolor palette and some tiny rags.
These plastic card-and-zipper-pouch inserts are for passports and travelers notebooks, and you can get them real cheap, two for 7$.
I use these to hold my cards, stickers, cash, and even a paint pallet and mini paint rags. Shockingly durable, zero issues after a year of use.

A galen leather journal cover, at passport travelers notebook size, next to a pencil for scale.
I’ve had my sketchbook wallet for about a year now, and it rules. Its my favorite thing, i show it off all the time.
Couldn’t find a single other soul that has done this when i was doing research to build it, so thought I’d share mine on the off chance someone else is crazy in the same way!

Finished watching OPLA.
As someone whos read every chapter and watched every episode of One Piece, I LOVED IT.
Been so long since ive seen something made with so much love for its source material. The way they embrace cringe and commit to the bit is beautiful. This show is lightning in a bottle.

BLM Announces Plan to Fell Oregon's Last Great Forests
One billion board feet per year... 30 days to make your voice heard.
You only have a short time to comment. They are trying to destroy our forests to enrich a few logging company executives and the politicians they’ve paid off.

A teddybear esc art doll adorned with beads. He has a cabinet handle for a face, with a banner painted with runes hanging from it.
Side view. The bottle at his side has fossilized shark teeth in it.
Left view. He has a seed pod as a purse and is holding an inari shrine charm in his hand.
Made an art doll for a friend as part of a craft-exchange we do every year.
His name is Trinket ✨

a digital collage with a pink, purple, green, yellow, and teal gradient overlaid on all the images. the images include a horse carrying a bucket, a cluster of mushrooms, a grub, a birds talon, a cicada, five spiders, two flower buds, a hand with an eye over the back of it, and a microscope slide of atoms. there is white text that reads "get weirder or die miserable." the background is black and there is a slightly grainy texture

with you on this, and i wish i wasnt…
same with tagging systems honestly. stopping to categorize and translate art… Its already kinda hard for me to share work, any additional point of friction is often enough to prevent me from posting altogether.
