Yeah Vampire Crawlers is pretty good. It feels a little too easy at the moment? But I'm hoping later runs get more challenging once the game opens up and can reliably assume you have more options.

A reminder that much of KT's monetary success comes from financial asset/investment management, all helmed by Kou Shibusawa's wife, Keiko Erikawa.
Automaton's previous report noted a community adage calling KT "an investment company disguised as a game company.": automaton-media.com/en/news/koei...

we all know I have no life, so:
Lot of times, "short-term" in the business world is more than a few years, but it's always a matter of time.
"Let's compete with ourselves by introducing a subscription model that negates the need to purchase our games at full price on launch. Surely this won't be a problem."
Still wild to me that Xbox saw how subscription services were killing off a fundamental part of sustainable business in film and TV, and decided "Our company isn't making profit to start, but we're built different this will work."
People talking about Gundam like Tomino isn't over in the next room going "it's shit it's all shit I love it it's great but it's shit"
People already talking about the Gundam movie like their life depends on it lmao “but the brand could be hurt if it bombs!” who cares man go watch one of the shows and talk to a real person
"Reading up on real-world history reveals a litany of sins, globally, none of which are ever addressed," he adds. "America, for example, is a nation built on stolen land, made rich through the labour of stolen people. Should we therefore boycott everything created by the USA? Do you realise your mobile phone contains cobalt, which is mined using child labour? Or that Apple's $2 billion acquisition of Israeli firm Q.ai now directly connects every iPhone to the genocide in Gaza? Or that large numbers of US politicians receive funding from AIPAC and thus are complicit in the Gaza genocide? Are you boycotting paying your taxes because of this?"
Szczepaniak's statement after the "tyranny of virtue" quip is honestly more telling. It's the "yet you live in a society, curious" tone but also, yes: every fucking thing he lists is a major fucking problem we should take more seriously, boycotting being the very least we could do re: each example
When I say gamers treat you not buying the entertainment products they like with the exact same degree of pain like you chopped off one of their fingers, this is what I mean.
I'm gonna die dude this is the best money I've ever spent
HOW THE FUCK IS SHE SO GOOD AT THIS
*sigh* no, Tomodachi Life, that's someone else in the X-Men...
He says I nailed it.
Jesus christ that was fast.
I made her 40 years old because that's how long it's been since Metroid's been out.
My friends told me I had to start adding fake people because otherwise all their Miis would start fucking each other.
It's frustrating because Bethesda continues to try to take control of a fan-operated, fan-created space. It wants to be in charge of its own fan club. It can't stand people playing w/ the toys they buy in a way it doesn't like. The end result being that it turns that community into a product to sell
The mod community's existence gave Bethesda profits all on its own by creating interest in its games catalogue beyond the vanilla experience. Bethesda getting involved and trying to become part of that fan space because they saw dollar signs continues to sour authors and audience alike.
The modding scene around Bethesda games continues to be a weird mix of good and bad, that has been unequivocally changed by Bethesda DESPERATELY trying to monetize the work of mod authors for the worse, I think. And the worst part is, it never had to. It never needed to turn a profit from it.
I find this really scummy, but I find it extra scummy because it's tied around achievements, which are supposed to be secondary to the secondary gameplay stuff in a game. It's like being charged money for napkins, because you thought to bring your own straw.
Once in a while, I think about how one of the ways Bethesda has found to get people to pay them money for Creations mods, is to enforce "achievement-friendly" mods (which tend to be duplicates of free mods that DON'T cause achievements to be disabled,) to cost money on their mod catalogue.
Honestly I think I nailed it
Introducing your new friends to the bald ones:
As a bald white guy with sharp features, you are always a pair of the wrong glasses away from just being Northernlion in a simplified character creator.
Talking about Warhammer 40k lore with friends, and my friends hits me with this:
Hate this. Remove it from my visage.
Every time I play a new Warhammer 40k thing, I am SHOCKED that people DO NOT GET THE POINT. How the hell do you read this and think it is an ENDORSEMENT of the world it takes place in?
People assuming Tim Curry was dead because he was trending is one of those things that scares me that probably shouldn't scare me, of how bad people's reading comprehension is getting, where a post will literally say "He turned 80 today!" and people will think "HE DIED?!"
