Alex Andreou is a really unpleasant bully to almost everyone outside his immediate bubble as far as I can tell.

Hopefully he won’t have time for that with his feet encased in a bloc of concrete.

I don’t think I suggested they did. I just suggested it might be less binary and more complex than could be fixed a crude planning tool more intended to control types of development rather than property ownership.

Not for the locals where the only jobs left are tourism or dwindling agriculture. But for anyone with means from Cheshire or the cities they are. Abersoch is a bit of an extreme outlier but you could repeat pattern across Llyn.

The underlying issue being the lack of competitive jobs and industries for locals to work in an area that is remote from infrastructure and the wider economy. If there local
jobs market was thriving there house prices wouldn’t be on the floor to picked up by the Cheshire set to wreck the coastline.

It does feel more nuanced than this. When tourism has become the main show in town, and redevelopment of second homes the only thing employing local trades, and the Article 4 causes further contraction of the local economy and doesn’t solve the underlying issue.

Also farmers seem to have licence to use roads as farm tracks and b*gger the damage it’s does whilst contributing nothing to maintain them.
Belgian farmers seem to have their own network of farm tracks yet getting planning consent for a farm track seems almost impossible.

This isn’t going to go down well but this needs
- a serious tax on larger SUVs
- on the continent outside of towns services aren’t run under the tarmac.
- why is it that utilities can dig up the road at anytime but apparently council say the weather is only right to fix them in the summer?

Westminster Meeting House raided by Metropolitan Police again. Statement: “For Quakers, faith and action are inseparable. Peaceful protest, prayer and nonviolent action are integral parts of many Quakers' religious life.

Whilst we take the planning of criminal acts very seriously, we believe that this incident is a deliberate targeting of committed young people who want to make our country a more equitable place. This raid is part of a systematic stifling of dissent.

That this is the second time in a year that the police have raided our meeting house dramatically illuminates the broader trend in the UK of cracking down on those who disagree with the government. The right to protest is fundamental to our democracy. It's a key part of how people make their voices heard between elections.” – Oliver Robertson, Head of Witness and Worship

The finale of #TheNightManger seems to be the BBC telling us all clear as day that the world is fucked, the oligarchs have won and decency is a dead ideal.

As Warren Buffet says. You can’t negotiate with a bad actor, you will always lose. We want our politicians and journalists to remain bounded by some truths and rules. In which case they’re doomed to fail against Farage.

Trickle-down economics was always a sham.

Nothing has ever trickled down.

Well done Zoe. If only the grown ups could sit down to fix the issue. Which is fixable. But instead the energy and oxygen is used up having to debate these maters with morons like Simon Clarke.

The upward redistribution of wealth over the past 50 years has shifted $80 trillion from the bottom 90% of Americans to the top 1%.

That’s $80 trillion that would have gone into the paychecks of the working class.

The greatest trick of all is trickle-down economics.
