Keith Giffen, Justice League and Legion of Super-Heroes Icon, Passes Away at 70 Keith Giffen, longtime comic book writer and artist, best known for his work on Justice League, Legion of Super-Heroes and Lobo, has died at 70

Keith Giffen is one of the masterminds behind my favorite JL era, made me fall in love with the Legion of Superheroes, and was one of the great writer-artists. Between losing him and Romita this year, and Perez and Adams last year, it's been a one-two (and three-four) gut-punch of comic book losses.

A student today asked me for basic tips on "how to get the writing done." I gave them some of my usual suggestions, but I'm wondering what you all think/do. What tips do you share with students about how to go from blank pages to full fledged papers?
