My question exactly. I was quite sure he had moved back with his mum while his flat was being finished. (some things in #thearchers get done super quickly while others seem to take forever) Something does not add up to me.

Yes yes obviously he would have had to face the consequences of his action. But I imagine the emotional baggage would have lessened by now?
While in this way he is a wreck and even if he admits what he has done he will face worse consequences because of the delay. So it's a lose-lose situation.
